Yesterday we had the lovely ladies from Simply Shetlands came in with Tinkerbell and Tallulah, two beautiful miniature Shetland ponies for us all to meet and pet. The residents (and staff!) were all absolutely enamoured by them. We all really enjoyed petting them and finding out more about them. Safe to say there were smiles all around! πŸ΄πŸ’™

Congratulations and a huge well done to James, our chef, who is our Employee of the Month!
-for all of his hardwork and dedication, going above and beyond, stepping into a new and very pressured role. With a relatively new team to manage, James hit the ground running at a very busy time of year, adopting how the kitchen operates whilst embedding his own way respectively.
Thank you James!

Yesterday we did quizzes and puzzles, and 1:1 bedroom visits, as our bedroom visits concentrate on our residents who are unable to leave there bedrooms when these activities happen we do not take pictures as these residents may not have permission to have pictures taken and out of respect we use this time to comfort and support our residents in whatever they may need πŸ’™πŸ’›

In the afternoon our activities where life skills, the jobs we do at home, so yesterday we folded towels, pillow cases and blankets, we paired the odd socks to help out our laundry ladies, we gave our baby dolls a bowl bath and hand washed some baby clothes and put them on the radiator to dry, these activities are important to our residents as it gives them a sense of home life, helps with there hand eye coordination and makes them happy sometimes the most mundane tasks we do day to day give us purpose and we like to keep that active in our day to day lives even now πŸ’™πŸ’›
