An exciting year is coming to close, so for now it’s time for a festive break to rest and make merry with friends and family.

A big thank you to all my wonderful clients and customers for keeping me so busy blending and creating your natural fragrances and skincare this year ❤️

I’ll be back in the Studio on Monday 12th January when I will respond to all orders placed and messages left, so until then I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and and a happy, healthy New Year ✨💛

We are instinctively drawn to scents which best suit our personality, aswell as our emotional and physical needs at any given time, which is why I always advise clients to be guided by their nose during their Personal Blending Sessions.

Whether they’re creating a signature scent for their home, a blend to support their emotional wellbeing or even to use as part of a daily meditation or yoga session, my advice is to always be guided by the nose.

Creating a scent to represent the very essence of a person, a couple or even a business space is no mean feat.

It requires a deep dive into personality, individual characteristics or in the case of a business, the very soul of a space.

It’s about looking at the shades of both light and dark, capturing a feeling of who they really are and what they stand for, and it leads to a unique expression of their style, personality and character.

With this one, I think we’re nearly there ❤️

When Aromachology and the art of natural perfumery come together, something pretty special happens.

As scientific study delves deeper into how scent affects our moods, our emotions aswell as our memories, and then we use it intentionally to create bespoke blends and signature fragrances, the potential for both scent marketing aswell as for individual wellbeing, becomes clear for all to see ✨

A bittersweet week in beautiful Sennen Cove, spent licking our now dog-less wounds.

Sharing 14 years of wonderful memories of him with our boys, walking sandy beaches and rugged cliff tops, experiencing both warm blue skies and chilly, stormy seas - nature in all its healing glory.

I’m back in the Studio today (the house is far too quiet without his wagging tail and loving presence) and looking forward to blending orders placed while I was away, so thank you for keeping me busy.

I’m also excited to be starting work on an exciting new fragrance led project with a focus on the psychology of natural scent.

Onwards …

Facial balms can be such a nurturing and nourishing addition to a skincare routine for drier and more mature skin at this time of year, and each quarter I create a small, fresh batch for clients.

I choose Organic oils, butters and waxes such as Rosehip, H**p and Chamomile in the Natural Skin Balm specifically nourish and protect the skin - it makes a fabulous healer and is great to use weekly as a nourishing skin mask.

While the Cleansing Melt is always a firm favourite with Moringa and Apricot, Lavender and Rose geranium to deeply and gently cleanse the skin, without stripping away its natural oils.

That time has come round again and I’ll be blending melts and balms again next week. I’ll be adding organic Calendula infused in Jojoba to the Natural Skin Balm to add to its skin nourishing healing power.

It’s so easy to get lost in the noise of this crazy world we are living in and forget the impact that nature can have on us if we allow it.

Studies show that spending time in nature reduces stress, anxiety and depression, not to mention the physical effects of lowering blood pressure and easing muscle tension.

It brings our senses alive, especially our sense of smell - the waft of salt on the sea breeze, the smell of pine in the forest, the sweet scent of a flower in full bloom, all affect us emotionally aswell as physically.

True aroma therapy... Think we all need a bit more of that, don’t you? 🌻

Creating bespoke facial masks for clients during their aromatherapy facial treatments is something I love to do, and one of the botanicals I add more of during the warmer summer months is Green Tea extract.

Herbs, clays and other natural extracts can be skin powerhouses when blended together to create a facial mask and Green Tea is no exception.

It’s often used for acneic and problem skin, but it can also help soothe the damage caused by sun exposure and is a wonderful way to calm any redness that may need to be tamed.
