Something a bit different today about life lately …

I had quite an amusing experience recently and I thought I’d share it.

Would you have been amused and let it go, or would you have sat firmly in the enraged camp? 🤔😂

As Monday’s go, it didn’t particularly get off to the best start.

Nothing huge happened, no great calamity or disastrous catastrophe, nothing major to report at all really. Yet not so long ago the day’s events would quite probably have set the tone for my whole week ahead – but not this time.

Magnolia has to be one of my favourite flowers, not only because they signal the arrival of Spring here in the UK, but also as they have a gorgeous and naturally uplifting sweet, floral aroma.

The scent of Magnolia leaf essential oil is much more fresh and woodsy, perfect for Springtime fragrance and it blends well with citrus oils and white florals.

When it’s intentionally blended for the space of a Spring wedding or special event, it can release a deep feeling of calm and joy and create the most special scent memories 🌸

Considering we live less than a 30 minute drive from one of oldest areas of natural beauty in England, I was reminded recently of how we often take the proximity of the natural world that surrounds us in this fair and pleasant land, completely for granted.

Creating a bespoke botanical fragrance can’t be rushed. Like all good relationships, natural aromatics need time to come together, to mature and get to know each other.

This totally unique natural wedding scent, created together with the bride and groom to be, has had a few months now of doing just that.

It has been tweaked to ensure harmony and balance and is now ready to layer throughout their wedding venue and guest rooms on their most special of days.

You can see by their faces ➡️ that they already love their unique scent and it has a pretty special place in my heart too - as it’s been created with love for my son and his beautiful fiancée ❤️❤️

It was about a week or so after our much adored, family dog passed that I felt an overwhelming urge to create a fragrance of him.

An exciting year is coming to close, so for now it’s time for a festive break to rest and make merry with friends and family.

A big thank you to all my wonderful clients and customers for keeping me so busy blending and creating your natural fragrances and skincare this year ❤️

I’ll be back in the Studio on Monday 12th January when I will respond to all orders placed and messages left, so until then I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and and a happy, healthy New Year ✨💛

We are instinctively drawn to scents which best suit our personality, aswell as our emotional and physical needs at any given time, which is why I always advise clients to be guided by their nose during their Personal Blending Sessions.

Whether they’re creating a signature scent for their home, a blend to support their emotional wellbeing or even to use as part of a daily meditation or yoga session, my advice is to always be guided by the nose.

Creating a scent to represent the very essence of a person, a couple or even a business space is no mean feat.

It requires a deep dive into personality, individual characteristics or in the case of a business, the very soul of a space.

It’s about looking at the shades of both light and dark, capturing a feeling of who they really are and what they stand for, and it leads to a unique expression of their style, personality and character.

With this one, I think we’re nearly there ❤️

When Aromachology and the art of natural perfumery come together, something pretty special happens.

As scientific study delves deeper into how scent affects our moods, our emotions aswell as our memories, and then we use it intentionally to create bespoke blends and signature fragrances, the potential for both scent marketing aswell as for individual wellbeing, becomes clear for all to see ✨

A bittersweet week in beautiful Sennen Cove, spent licking our now dog-less wounds.

Sharing 14 years of wonderful memories of him with our boys, walking sandy beaches and rugged cliff tops, experiencing both warm blue skies and chilly, stormy seas - nature in all its healing glory.

I’m back in the Studio today (the house is far too quiet without his wagging tail and loving presence) and looking forward to blending orders placed while I was away, so thank you for keeping me busy.

I’m also excited to be starting work on an exciting new fragrance led project with a focus on the psychology of natural scent.

Onwards …
