Type 1 diabetes can present at any age but most commonly presents in children and young people. Nearly 40% of children and young people are in life-threatening Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) at diagnosis – and this percentage is rising.
This World Diabetes Day, Friday 14 November, help prevent serious complications by knowing the four key symptoms of type 1 diabetes – the ‘4Ts’: Toilet (frequent urination), Thirsty (constant thirst), Tired (low energy), Thinner (unexplained weight loss).
