Remember when you could just call your doctor? Not navigate a phone system. Not wait in a queue of 47 callers. Not try to explain symptoms to a receptionist who's doing triage over the phone.

Just... call your doctor. And they answer. Or they call you back within the hour.

It sounds almost revolutionary now, doesn't it? But it's not. It's just how doctor-patient relationships are supposed to work. Direct access. Actual conversation. Someone who knows you picking up the phone.

That's not gone. It's just not what the NHS can offer anymore. But it still exists. And you can have it.

You've heard it mentioned. At the village hall. At the school gates. Over coffee at the market. "Oh, I just called my doctor." Said so casually. Like it's perfectly normal to actually speak to your GP. On the same day. Without waiting on hold for forty minutes.

It is becoming normal round here. Because more families are realising that healthcare doesn't have to be complicated, stressful, or impossible to access. It can just... work. The way it's supposed to.
