Back up and running!

After the short notice closure of Virgin Active Spa and therapy spaces nationwide to make way for Pilates reformer studios, the clinic had been temporarily homeless. CLINIC TEMPORARY CLOSURE AS OF DECEMBER 30th 2020............

As a result of Solihull shifting into tier 4 Covid measures, Virgin Active gym has been forced to close, and along with it Nigel’s clinic based within the gym. This is incredibly disappointing and frustrating but an obviously necessary measure with the current situation of accelerating virus spread. Nigel will still be available for video telehealth appointments which can be booked online via the direct booking link on this page or via his website at nigelroephysio.com

COVID-19 UPDATE*****NIGEL ROE PHYSIO CLINIC RE-OPENING THURSDAY DECEMBER 3rd*****

The Clinic reopens once again for face to face appointments this coming Thursday with the end of the current lockdown.

Existing measures from last reopening will continue to mitigate Covid-19 risk, including pre appointment online questionnaire, outside/car/socially distanced gym cafe(with mask) waiting until appointment start time, temperature checking and mask wearing during appointment. Nigel will be wearing mask/gown/face shield prescribed PPE as outlined in relevant government guidelines, and there will be longer gaps between appointments to allow equipment/room cleaning.

He will continue to offer telehealth appointments for those who are high risk, or just want advice rather than hands on/face to face treatment. ***COVID-19 UPDATE*** Clinic CLOSING due to new lockdown at end of day Wednesday November 4th
Nigel is hugely disappointed to announce that due to the imminent national lockdown #2 , and the requirement for all gyms to close as part of the lockdown, his clinic within Virgin Active Solihull will be forced to close again at the end of the clinic day on Wednesday November 4th. Some additional hours have been made available between now and Wednesday to try and fit in those who need to be seen before clinic closure....please check online availability by clicking the appointment booking button links on this page or visiting nigelroephysio.com

The new normal for now after clinic opening day yesterday....still the same me underneath and it's so good to finally be back! Changed procedures to ensure your safety include a pre appointment triage phone call and online Covid-19/consent questionnaire, thorough cleaning of clinic contact points and surfaces between patients, in car carpark waiting until you are messaged for your appointment start, mask wearing for both patient and physio, hand sanitiser and temperature check prior to clinic entrance, sole use of the entire Heaven V spa space with no other staff/member access, 2m distancing through the initial seated interview with Nigel and then gown, face shield and gloves for Nigel during actual close contact treatment, contactless payment and hand re-sanitise on exit. Phew! But that's how the physio profession is doing all it can to minimise your risk, while still giving you access to match needed quality musculoskeletal diagnosis and care....and the one thing Telehealth didn't allow: hands on treatment for all of numerous lockdown injuries and pain problems that are starting to flood in! NIGEL ROE PHYSIO CLINIC RE-OPENING Tuesday July 28th
Nigel is excited and relieved to finally be able to confirm re-opening of his Virgin Active Clinic. There will be extensive measures in place to mitigate Covid-19 risk, including pre appointment online questionnaire, outside/car waiting until messaged for appointment start, temperature checking and (provided) mask wearing. Nigel will be wearing prescribed PPE as outlined in relevant government guidelines, and there will be longer gaps between appointments to allow stipulated cleaning. It will all be a bit strange but it is the new normal for now!

He will continue to offer telehealth appointments for those who are high risk, or just want advice rather than hands on/face to face treatment. Both appointment types can be booked here online. Nigel says "So good to be back....let's get your lockdown injuries and niggles sorted!"

NEW SERVICE UPDATE: online telehealth video consultations: In the absence of a physical clinic for the time being, I've set up a trial online physiotherapy service. This will be based on an initial 30 minute consultation to allow time to discuss your problem in detail and observe relevant movement and simple tests. Once a provisional diagnosis Is made, We can discuss and I can demonstrate relevant self treatment and management. This will be followed up with an email detailing your clinical diagnosis and your personalised plan and relevant exercises/advice/education. More complex problems will potentially need a longer 45 minute appointment......if unsure, call, text or email me first.

Follow-ups will be based on 30 minute slots, but with shorter "check up" slots available too, for less complex problems. Appoint types can be combined with these 15 min slots to create longer sessions if needed. Good news for AXA PPP patients in that these online sessions are insurance approved....just confirm with AXA first.

Please note that it may not always be possible to confirm the exact problem in the absence of actual “hands on” testing that is a standard part of musculoskeletal medicine practice. Call first if you are not sure about the suitability of your problem and I will be happy to discuss before committing to booking an appointment.

Update from my website....sadly the clinic is now closed as Virgin Active shuts down on government recommendation.....closure was unavoidable anyway as my two young children are entrusted to my care and home schooling from today as my wife continues in a key worker role. It was the responsible time too, to limit social contact as the threat from Covid-19 ramps up steeply in our community. Stay safe everyone, and PLEASE act responsibly and stay home for the sake of our elderly and vulnerable. Thank you to all my wonderful clients for their support in my first year at Virgin Active Solihull, and hope to be back soon-ish!!
