OVER 45YEARS MARRIED AND STILL VERY MUCH IN LOVE

My heart skips a beat when I look at this and I bless my God, who brought this perfect Prince of a man into my life over 45years ago.

Believe me, it was not a smooth ride. There is no such thing as a free lunch or easy ride in life. There were children, family, media nastiness and the world to battle through. We went through it all and came out more in love than ever.

In the mid and early our union was not so welcomed. All I knew was I had met the man with the exact character I had always prayed for as a child, the only difference is that he was not Nigerian.

All praise to God, who knows colour has nothing to do with the spirit, soul or heart.
When my (not so easy) mother gave her blessing in these prophetic words "Yours will be the best marriage......" no amount of nastiness, bitching nor scheming from outside forces could interfere with our love and dedication to each other. Now I know the more they tried the more they made our love stronger.

His love for his children was the big factor too, for me. And then when we received a Special Dispensation from His Holiness Pope (Saint) John Paul ll to get married in the Catholic Church, we were fully united in body, mind and spirit.

As for money, we have had lots of it, lost it, built it up again, lost it and built it up again. I have never and would not compromise my marriage, husband, family, happiness or integrity for money or career. Money and career come and go but a great marriage and family is priceless and to be treasured above all.

As a wife, a mother and grandmother I am no pushover, but a fierce defender of my family. Maybe that's why my Stephen comes out as the star of my autobiography alongside my wonderful Mother.
It can only be God. I am blessed.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE FOR MARRIAGE?

This interview with a seasoned couple gives us a snapshot of reasons why it is important for two entirely different individuals who come together in marriage, and wish to spend the rest of their lives together, adequately prepare for this journey. When you want to go on holiday, you make plans well ahead of time, of the mode of travel, where you would stay, what you would do and so on. If we make plans for such an activity to ensure that everything goes well, why is it that some of us make no effort whatsoever to prepare for marriage? Most women look forward to their wedding day, with much delight and anticipation. They want the day to be just perfect - the wedding of their dreams. If only some of them spend just half the time and energy they put into planning the wedding day, into preparing to be married, then incidences of divorce will be minimal.

Hey Friends!

I’ve got a quick announcement (and question) for you today… 😁

Some of you would have probably seen my YouTube video series - TOGETHER FOREVER: UNLOCKING THE SECRETS TO LIFELONG MARRIAGE❤️.

As I mentioned in the introductory video, it's a subject I've been very passionate about for over two decades. I recall that as far back as 2001 I started writing some blogs or articles with the title 'TOGETHER FOREVER'👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨.

You can't believe how those articles were instrumental in saving many marriages that were hanging in the balance. Besides, my husband and I have been involved in marriage counselling for many years, and God has used us to save quite a few🙌🏼.

My own marriage that was going to fall apart after just one week💔, has flourished for 42+ years💖. How did that happen? What's the secret?🤫 I have shared some of the secrets to lifelong marriage, in my award-winning book, TOGETHER FOREVER: 15 SECRETS TO LIVELONG MARRIAGE🏆📚.

Research shows that broken relationships affect all those concerned, especially where children are involved🙁😔. Even the financial cost to society, which in 2018 in the UK was £5.6 billions, exceeding the cost of UK defence, makes it imperative that something needs to be done about it. I cannot even begin to describe how passionate I am about the subject💞.

So, I’m finally doing something about it! 🙌

I’m actually writing another book and putting together a programme to help professionals who are married and intending couples, to avoid imminent problems in marriage so they can cultivate and nurture a long-lasting relationship. The proposed title for the Programme is 'ONE SPOUSE FOR LIFE: HOW TO BUILD A STRONG MARRIAGE THAT LASTS A LIFETIME'.❤️💖

And before I get too far down the tracks with this “passion project”, I want to get some honest feedback on a few of the ideas…

WHY MY MARRIAGE FAILED

When you buy an equipment, it comes with a manual instructing you on how to use the equipment to get the best out of it. It'll be fool hardy to try to use a new equipment without first studying the manual on how to use it, or how to assemble it, if it is one requiring to be assembled. Similarly, you wouldn't want to be treated by a doctor who never went to medical school to study, nor would you invite someone to fix your plumbing problem, who never learnt how to be a plumber. We spend years at university or college learning a trade or a profession, but many of us get into marriage and think it will succeed without learning how to be married, and stay married. Research has shown that one of the reasons that many marriages fail is the lack of preparation for marriage. Marriage is like any trade or profession. You have to learn how to be married and continue to learn how to stay married. It's a life-long process.

The sincerity of a Husband is known during the sickness of his Wife.

The sincerity of a Wife is known during the financial difficulty of her Husband.

True Love of Children is known during the old age of their Parents.

The True Nature of Siblings is known during the distribution of inheritance.

The sincerity of Friends is known during hard times.

True relatives are known when one is far from his Country, lonely or sick.

A Very True Love is known when there is no means of benefit.

And a True believer is known during times of hardship.
