I will be running another of my restorative evenings to interrupt the business and stress of the run up to Christmas, and offer you a much needed few hours of deep relaxation and peace for the body and mind..

Two and a half hours with the phone off, the lights dimmed, the doors closed and the interruptions and the 'need to be doing' is stilled.

I will guide you through light easy stretches (yin yoga) to release physical tension, then deepen this relaxation into restorative, lying down poses supported by bolsters, pillows and blankets, and then lead a guided meditation (yoga Nidra) to relax your mind deeper and deeper into a bliss state of utter calm and peace for the mind.

We will finish with a warming winter drink while you return gently to the rest of the day refreshed and restored.

Sunday 14th December 5pm til 7.30pm Washington Village Hall.

£25pp.

All you need to bring is your own pillow and blankets and if you have a yoga mat that too. No experience needed.

September! The month of change, of new starts, new beginnings, and the unknown new road ahead.

If you have children going back to school, maybe moving into a new, bigger school, or maybe leaving school altogether, I get it, it feels unsettling and you maybe feeling a bit lost.

Maybe this is the first time you have stood at that school gate with a little hand held tight in your hand, each as nervous and unsure as each other what the future will look like for both them and you?

Take comfort in this; that when you let go of who you think you are now - the parent, keeper, protector of this little one who you have brought from baby in arms to this big moment of change - and step into who you might be, it will not disappoint!

Yes it's scary. Take it from one who struggles with feeling comfortable with my little ones growing up away from me, and questions 'who will I be when they don't need me any more?' but, with every year they grow taller, more independent, more adult and stop needing a new shoe size, l learn that I too must grow, shift, learn and develop too. And what if, you let that fizz of nerves become a fizz of excitement instead?

Come and feel supported in your new journey by putting something new into your routine, (or maybe revisiting something old).

My yoga classes begin after drop-off at Washington Village Hall on Tues, Weds and Thursdays at 9.30am (enough time for a natter at the gate before it starts) and I also teach in the evenings on Wednesday.

Yoga is way more than just 'exercise'. It will help you feel grounded and supported in your mind as well as your body. It will help you build trust in yourself where you feel lost, and as you put something back into you, you begin to see the other possibilities..

Hello friends!

For those who may not know, I've been a certified massage therapist for around 7 years now, and have finally moved from working with clients in my house, into my beautiful little studio.

(Huge thank you to my lovely Guss for building this for me and helping me achieve this dream!)

This is an extremely serene and peaceful little cabin in my garden I've named 'The Healing Space'.

When you walk into it and lie down on the couch, it feels instantly like a weight had been lifted, and the body takes a sigh of relief before l've even started. It's pretty magical.

We store emotional baggage in our bodies, weighing us down, stiffening us up, giving us pain and holding us back from mentally and physically moving forward out of pain, tension and stress.

I offer intuitive touch massage. This is letting my hands guide me sooth and soften tight, painful and stuck areas of the body with myofacial release and deep tissue muscle work, or sometimes what's needed is gentle, calming work to just wind down the tension and the nervous system and leave you walking on air, calmer, easier, happier.

I can also work on areas that are giving you physical restriction or pain, you let me know.

I charge £60 for 75 mins (this is a longer session than most masseuses offer, as l feel that an extra 15 mins is needed for the treatment to be fully benificial for the body and mind to fully unwind)

I'd also like to offer an even lower intro price for first visits of £45 for the same time in the months of July and August.

I will also be offering a shorter time of 45 mins for £45 going forward.

And for a quicker fix on back, neck and shoulders, only half an hour for £30.

Massage isn't just a luxury, often it becomes an essential tool to take care of yourself, filling up your cup so that you can continue filling up others. X

Hello January!

I know you're not always the most welcome of months, but how about we focus on what we can do to make ourselves just feel better today?

Practising Yoga, even just once a week, will make you feel more at ease in your body, clearer minded, calmer, balanced and in a better mood than when you left the house and got yourself out!

If you feel that you haven't got the time, the patience or the will .. I guarantee you, that no-one says ' I regret going to yoga today'

You will feel better!

I would like to invite you to join my evening event of blissful Yoga Restorative on Sunday 1st December at the Hall in Washington.

At this time of year, we tend to find ourselves getting busy and occupied by the looming presence of Christmas. For some, this is a time of great fun and joy and excitement, for others this is a very stressful, anxiety inducing and sometimes triggering occasion which we wish would be quickly over so we can return to normal.

And all this, in a season when our natural circadian rhythms are interrupted by our need to hold to the clock and not to the light, we fight against the natural desire to hibernate and 'huddle in' by the pressures around this time to be more social, we are depleted in natural,healing and energy giving Vitamin D from lack of sunshine so our immune systems struggle to maintain good health.

In this evening, I will guide you out of this dis-regulation and into regulating the much ruffled nervous system, to counter all of this.

We will move from long, delicious tension releasing Yin poses for the physical body, then into fully supported and held restorative poses for the energetic body and finally a guided Yoga Nidra meditation for complete peace for the mind.

A warm mulled drink will be served at the end before floating off to bed for the best nights sleep of the year.

Absolutely no experience or knowledge of Yoga needed. All of the poses are lying down on the floor, mats can be provided, just bring blankets and pillows!

6.30pm till 9pm at the Village Hall in Washington.
£25 pay in advance, the spaces are limited.

Welcome June and the summer term!

I was going to say welcome Summer, but its teasing us!

A new 7 week term of classes will begin this week from the 4th June.

And as its 7 weeks, it lends itself nicely to explore each week the 7 energy centres (chakras) of the body. Growing from base chakra to crown chakra.

So each week we will be exploring the physical and mental connection and function of each centre, what it relates to physically and mentally, how it effects the body and mind and working in poses that lend themselves to freeing stuck energy at these centres.

Additionally to this, I want to blend in the concept of 'Sthira Sukha' to our practice. ' Steady and peaceful' 'effort vs ease'. the Yogic philosophy from the Yoga Sutras teaching us that every asana should be steady/strong/grounded while also finding the balance of comfortable and peaceful. A paradox that is not always easy!

To practice balance, to find the middle ground of energy vs rest, of effort vs ease, of activity vs stillness.. the Yin and Yang of life.. is to find peace. And when we find it on the mat.. it spills out into our lives.

Finally, in addition to this, I have added into my schedule weekly Yin Yoga Classes on a Monday, alternating between Monday mornings at 9.30am and Monday evenings at 6pm. The first class of this will be on the 10th June at 9.30am (and also my birthday!) these will be payable in advance of £10 and will only be able to run if I get a minimum of 5 people in each class paid in advance.

As always, I look forward to seeing all of your faces, bring all your thoughts, worries, pains, the good and the bad, and drop them at at the door. They will be lighter when your leave...
