Help us ensure that every family is given the opportunity to share a cuddle during the most difficult of times.

At the end of 2024 we were grateful to receive generous grants from The Grace Trust, The Mark Benevolent Fund and Hampshire, IOW Masonic Charitable Foundation, and an anonymous funder, to fund three Cuddle Beds for the In-patient Unit.

However, with 16 rooms in total, we are now appealing to our community to help us fund the 13 additional beds.

💛 Thank You BBC Children in Need

This BBC Children in Need Appeal Week, we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at BBC Children in Need for supporting our Rowans Meerkat Service 🐾

As part of Rowans Hospice, our Meerkat team provides specialist bereavement support to children and young people who are facing or who have experienced the death of someone special to them. 💚

Funding from BBC Children in Need helps us to continue offering this vital care, ensuring children receive the understanding and support they need, when they need it most 💛

We are incredibly grateful to BBC Children in Need for their continued partnership, helping us to make a positive difference and bring hope to the lives of local children and their families.

This Thursday, we would like to thank our Denmead and Waterlooville Fundraising Support Group for some of their recent events in support of the Hospice.

Last month, the group held their exciting Camel Race, which raised an incredible £1,250! We are delighted to hear how many people attended and how well the event went. They also attended the Denmead Horticultural Show at the end of summer and raised another fantastic £158 for Rowans.

We are extremely grateful to all the members of our Fundraising Support Groups for everything they do in support of Rowans Hospice. Their dedication and hard work make such a difference.

If you are interested in joining one of our local groups, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us today. 💚

This festive season we are asking you to “Gift a Cuddle This Christmas”, to help us fund thirteen cuddle beds for our In-patient Unit.

A cuddle bed is a specially designed bed that expands from a single to a double size, allowing patients and their loved ones to lie side by side, hold each other close, and share precious moments that would otherwise be impossible.

Each bed costs £15,000, including the mattress and bedding.

Jo Fricker, Deputy Chief Executive and Clinical Director said “Every cuddle bed represents a moment of comfort and connection. This Christmas, we are asking our community to help make this dream a reality for every family in our care.”

Our dream is to ensure that every family is given the opportunity to share a cuddle during the most difficult of times.

This Remembrance Sunday, we proudly honour and take time to remember the bravery of those who gave so much, and their admirable sacrifices when fighting for our country.

Today, we reflect on the precious memories and stories of the ones we have lost and continue to hold them close in our hearts.

Each Monday, our Living Well Services hold social groups for our Veterans and Serving Personnel and tomorrow will be a special meeting, with a service being held at 12:15 – 12:30 for both of our groups. In these sessions, you can seek advice, get support, or simply share stories with others who can understand your situation. For more information, please contact lwc@rowanshospice.co.uk

Meet Rosie and Gavin, two of our volunteers in our Fareham Retail Store, as part of their Duke of Edinburgh awards. We asked Rosie and Gavin about why they chose Rowans Hospice, including what they have learnt, and how much they have benefitted since volunteering for the Hospice. We even got them to pick out an outfit for each other! 👖

Our Christmas Tree Collection is back on 8, 9 and 10 January 2026.

This service helps you to recycle your tree and raise funds for Rowans Hospice. Once collected by our amazing volunteers, your tree will be recycled into wood chippings and mulch — helping both the community and the planet. 💚

How it works:

1 - Register your tree for collection from Saturday, 15 November 2025.
2 - Make a donation when registering
3 - Leave your tree outside on the collection day and our team of volunteers will handle the rest.

To find out collections areas and to book your collection, visit our website here - buff.ly/20dpYQJ

This Thursday, we would like to say a huge thank you to father and daughter duo, Shaun and Amy, who ran a half marathon over the Summer in memory of Shaun’s brother and Amy’s uncle, Steve.

Amy and her dad have far exceeded their target of £500 and raised an incredible £2,277 for Rowans Hospice in Steve's memory.

Amy said: “Steve was diagnosed with cancer and, devastatingly, passed away just five weeks later. In that short and difficult time, the team at Rowans were incredible in making sure he was as comfortable as possible and supporting all of us with kindness and compassion”

We are so grateful to Amy and Shaun for the amazing amount that they have raised to supporting local Hospice care. Thank you. 💚
