People with certain long-term health conditions face serious complications from flu, including hospitalisation or death.

But a flu vaccine gives you the best protection - like protective armour.

If you have a chronic heart condition, a respiratory condition such as COPD or severe asthma, kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease, a neurological condition (such as cerebral palsy, MS, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease or have had a stroke) or are immunosuppressed you are at greater risk and are eligible for the flu vaccination on the NHS.

So, before winter sets in, when flu spreads more easily, contact us to book your vaccination appointment.

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that comes and goes in a seasonal pattern.

Here are a few ways you can support your wellbeing:
☀️try to get as much natural sunlight as possible – even a brief lunchtime walk can be beneficial
💡 make your work and home environments as light and airy as possible
🪟 sit near windows when you're indoors
👟 take plenty of regular exercise, particularly outdoors and in daylight – read more about exercise for depression
🥦 eat a healthy, balanced diet
😟 if possible, avoid stressful situations and take steps to manage stress

❓🍼 Did you know? - If you have gestational diabetes (high blood sugar that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after birth), you are more likely to go on to develop type 2 diabetes.
You will be invited for a blood test after you give birth, and then annually even if your results are normal. You should attend these tests even if you feel well, as many people with diabetes don't have any symptoms.

📢 VMG Patients - Did you know that the eligibility criteria for the Covid-19 Vaccination has changed this year.

Patients eligible are:
- Residents in a care home for older adults
- All adults aged 75 or over
- Persons aged 6 months or over who are immunosuppressed

You may be immunosuppressed if you have had blood cancer, have had an organ transplant, have HIV, are having chemotherapy, are on long term immunosuppressive treatments or taking steroid medication.

Our team can advise you if you are eligible, just ask one of our reception team.
