“It’s lovely to see mum and mum is in such a good frame of mind, mentally and physically.”

In this Care Cast clip, Sally shares how her mum is doing now and reflects on the journey their family took to get here.

Looking back, she explains how choosing the right support changed everything, even though it felt painful, frightening and unknown at the time.

“We wouldn’t be where we are now if we hadn’t gone the route that we had done. You have to go with your gut feeling and just do it.”

“It was the substance of the company.”

In this Care Cast clip, I speak with Sally, a client of The Live In Care Company, about what gave her confidence when her family were searching for the right support for her mum.

“It just felt like I had somebody who understood where we felt.”

Sally shares how important it was to find a company that understood their wish to support her mum at home, rather than feeling pushed towards a care home, and how being listened to made all the difference.

“We wanted to look after her, what we were looking for as a family, what mum was looking for.”

She also reflects on how those first conversations set the benchmark for every decision that followed, and why feeling understood mattered just as much as practical support.

Watch the full conversation to hear Sally talk honestly about trust, confidence and choosing live-in care that felt right for their family.

Heart Month highlights the impact heart conditions can have on everyday life for individuals and families. Alongside the important awareness and fundraising work led by organisations such as the British Heart Foundation, having the right support in place at home can make a meaningful difference.

Live-in care enables people to remain in familiar surroundings while receiving personalised support shaped around their routines, energy levels and individual needs. For many families, this approach offers reassurance, continuity and the confidence that their loved one is supported day to day in their own home.

When care works well, it becomes more than support. It becomes companionship, trust, and peace of mind for the whole family.

For our client Sally, knowing someone is there 24/7, keeping her Mum safe at home, supporting familiar routines, and staying closely connected with the family has made a profound difference.

What is The Live In Care Company?

The Live In Care Company is dedicated to providing you with highly experienced and skilled carers to create a happy, reliable and positive experience for both client and carer.

Live-in care is the term that is used to describe a trained and experienced carer moving into the home of a person to provide care, companionship and domestic support around the clock.

It has the benefit of allowing the person being cared for to remain within their familiar environment, a home they know, neighbours and friends nearby, and the things they have grown to love and be comforted by. Understanding when you or a loved one may have come to the point when need additional support may not be straight forward. It may also be difficult for someone to admit that they cannot do some of the tasks that they used to find easy.
