Used instruments are cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, rinsed and dried and then sterilised in an autoclave. This uses pressurised steam to kill all potentially infectious agents.
The autoclave is serviced and checked annually, while the effectiveness of each cycle is confirmed by an indicator strip, where the special ink only changes colour once the specific sterilisation criteria have been met.
