Time-line therapy – TLT
Your time-line is thought to be a way for your subconscious mind to store your own unique memory of an event. When something happens, your subconscious mind seeks a comparison from similar past memories to understand the new experience. Imagine all your memories (that is taste, smells, sounds, feelings, words and images of that memory) as beads on a chain or ‘timeline’, and that by removing the first bead holding the memory of an experience, all the other relevant beads will roll off. This should then allow you to view your experience differently and achieve more positive thoughts in the future. You can choose whether or not to reveal the experience to your therapist.
