My 2022 Marathon Challenge - 4 MARATHONS, 3 COUNTRIES, 2 FEET, 1 MONTH!!!

I will be running 4 consecutive Sunday marathons this October to raise £10,000 for humanitarian orthopaedic foot and ankle charity,

🎡 TCS London Marathon, UK (2nd)
⛰️ Boulderthon, Boulder, Colorado, USA (9th)
🚲 TCS Amsterdam Marathon, Netherlands (16th)
🎓 The Abingdon Marathon, Oxfordshire, UK (23rd)

Steps2Walk surgeons perform surgery so that young people in areas of need around the world can walk, and lead a better life, free from pain and disability. Steps 2 Walk also train local surgeons so they can continue to provide ongoing treatment for their local population.

This is a complex forefoot reconstruction (before /after at 6 months). It included a and cross over toe deformity correction, with repair and shortening /elevating osteotomies of the lesser metatarsal. Now 6 months and patient is happy with a narrowed foot and no pain from the previous bunion and the 2nd toe isn't rubbing in shoes.

The is very close when performing surgery. I always warn patients they may have transient numbness on the lateral border of the foot.

My patient had suffered for years (seeing me for a problem). She recently started and has changed her life, as she is now pain free.
