🌟 From Fresh Start to Independence – A Story to Celebrate! 🌟

When TR moved into Phoenix House in June 2023 as our very first tenant, it marked the beginning of a new chapter. With support from staff, she quickly learned to manage everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and turning her flat into a place she could call home.

At the same time, TR worked hard to rebuild her confidence; From feeling isolated, she began taking small steps back into the community, eventually gaining the confidence to go out independently; she also showed real commitment to her wellbeing by engaging with community support services and attending her appointments consistently.

One of her biggest achievements has been rebuilding her relationship with her young son, alongside this, she reconnected with friends, made positive choices, and became more confident and independent in all areas of her life.

With her progress, her support hours gradually reduced, showing just how far she had come. And now, the best part… 🎉 TR has successfully moved into her own property to live independently.

This is what we strive for at Amethyst, supporting tenants to grow, gain independence, and prepare for life beyond supported living. We are incredibly proud of TR and wish her all the very best in her next chapter.

🐣🌸 A Memorable Easter Across Our Services 🌸🐣

It’s been a wonderful and memorable Easter across our services, filled with togetherness, inclusivity, and plenty of smiles. Many of our tenants took the initiative to organise their own Easter get-togethers, creating meaningful moments and celebrating in their own special ways.

At Cliffe House, tenants came together on Easter Sunday to host a lovely get-together. With support from staff, they worked as a team to prepare food and enjoy time together, making the day both rewarding and enjoyable.

Over at Beech House, tenants enjoyed a fun and engaging Easter Sunday in the communal room. They took part in a variety of games, including Bingo, as well as Easter-themed and music quizzes. The activities encouraged social interaction, and everyone got involved and enjoyed the occasion.

Tenants from Arch House also joined in the celebrations with a delightful Easter egg hunt afternoon, bringing excitement and lots of smiles.

At Austhorpe Road, tenants and staff came together to enjoy Easter with games and a shared Easter meal, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The day focused on bringing everyone together, encouraging participation, and ensuring all tenants could enjoy the celebrations.

These celebrations reflect the strong sense of community across our services, where tenants are encouraged to take part, support one another, and create lasting memories.

🎶🎾 Supporting Wellbeing Through Meaningful Moments 💙

Across our services, we continue to see wonderful examples of how personalised support makes a real difference in the lives of our tenants.

At Beech House, one of our tenants recently attended a show at Yeadon Town Hall, enjoying a live band performing songs from the 1960s. It was a lovely experience where he was able to relax, listen to familiar music, and fully engage in a positive and enjoyable social activity.

Meanwhile at Austhorpe Road, another tenant spent time at the park playing lawn tennis with staff. This active outing not only encouraged physical wellbeing but also created a fun and uplifting moment outdoors.

These experiences highlight the dedication of our staff team across Amethyst — encouraging choice and supporting personal interests is key in maintaining both the emotional and physical wellbeing of our tenantss.

It’s these meaningful, everyday moments that truly make a difference 💫

🌿🚶‍♂️ Steps, Smiles & Great Energy at Austhorpe Road! 🚶‍♀️🌿

What an amazing moment from our tenants at Austhorpe Road! Yesterday, three tenants took the initiative to get out, get active, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Roundhay Park — and they absolutely smashed it with an incredible 15,000 steps! 👏🔥

This wasn’t just a walk — it was a fantastic display of motivation, independence, and teamwork. From enjoying the fresh air to pushing themselves further, the energy and determination shown was truly inspiring.

A big shoutout to their support workers and the service for encouraging and supporting such positive, healthy activities. Moments like this highlight the power of the right support, a great environment, and tenants who are willing to challenge themselves 💪💚

💜 Supporting Independence at Lingwell Rise 💜

When we say at Amethyst that we involve our tenants in their care plans, we truly mean it. Our approach is all about preparing the people we support for the future, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and resilience they need for whatever challenges they may encounter when they are ready to move on to the next stage of their lives.

At Lingwell Rise, we are proud to celebrate a wonderful milestone that shows just how powerful the right support and determination can be.
One of our tenants has recently achieved a fantastic personal goal by successfully passing their driving test. This is an incredible accomplishment and a huge step toward greater independence. Being able to drive opens up many opportunities, from increased freedom to new possibilities for work, social life, and personal growth.

This is a truly significant moment that reflects the progress, confidence, and life skills they have developed during their time with us.
This achievement is a testament to the dedication and determination of our tenants. It is also made possible through the guidance and encouragement of our supportive and committed staff team, who work tirelessly every day to help individuals reach their full potential.

At Amethyst, moments like these remind us why person-centred support matters so much, because every step forward, no matter how big or small, brings our tenants closer to living the life they choose.

💜 Celebrating Progress at Mill Residence 💜

At Mill Residence, we are so proud of SJ and the incredible effort she has been making towards her wellbeing.
SJ has been working hard to step outside her comfort zone and attend the gym regularly. She understands how important exercise is for her mental health, and despite challenges, she continues to push herself forward. That determination is truly inspiring.

With the consistent encouragement and support of our dedicated staff team, SJ is building healthy routines that not only strengthen her body but also uplift her mind. Every visit to the gym is more than just a workout. It’s a step towards confidence, resilience, and independence.

At Amethyst, we believe that care should never be one-size-fits-all. We actively involve our tenants in their care planning, listening closely to their goals, preferences, and aspirations. By tailoring support to individual needs and wants, we empower the people we support to take ownership of their journey.

SJ’s progress is a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when determination meets the right support.

🎄✨ Festive Fun at Phoenix House ✨🎄

In the lead-up to Christmas, staff and tenants at Phoenix House came together to enjoy some festive activities and quality time as a community. 🎅🎬

The celebrations included a lovely communal gathering in the communal lounge, where everyone enjoyed spending time together, as well as a cinema trip for some tenants to watch a movie and get into the Christmas spirit.

It was great to see everyone engaging, sharing smiles, and creating positive memories during this festive season.

A big thank you to the tenants and staff of Phoenix House who made this possible and helped create such a warm and enjoyable experience for all. 🌟🎁
