Information Event; Supporting reduced Health and Mobility
There is an information event in Stevenage on Wednesday 5th November 2025 10am - 1pm, supporting people with reduced health and/or mobility and their carers. This will offer an opportunity for carers and their "cared for" to talk with a range of local health, advisory and charity organisations.

Our carers survey is still live for a short while, so please share with your carers if you can in the next few days:

Have your say in Carers in Hertfordshire’s 2025 Carers’ Survey!
If you care for a partner, relative or friend with an illness, disability or other need, you can help charity Carers in Hertfordshire better understand the caring situation in Hertfordshire in 2025 and help shape support and services.

Take part at www.surveymonkey.com/r/YJ829HJ – you could win a £250 or £50 voucher!
Prefer phone or post, or under 18? Email contact@carersinherts.org.uk or call 01992 58 69 69.

Good morning Watton patients

We have numerous patients who contact us regarding a referral that has been made for them, asking how long it might be until seen by a consultant.

Please click on the link below for further information

https://www.myplannedcare.nhs.uk/east/east-north-hertfordshire/

This will give you a rough idea of when you might be seen or start treatment.

We are about to start the Autumn round of vaccinations for Covid, Flu and children's flu.

If you are eligible you will be contacted via a text. If you click on the link you will be able to book your appointment.
We will start children's flu in the next week or 2 and Covid adult Flu from 1st October.

For Covid it is anyone over the age of 75, those in care homes or those who are immunosuppressed.

For Flu it is anyone over the age of 65 and the immunosuppressed.

For children it is those aged between 2 and 4.

We will have limited doses available for both Covid and Flu, so please book as soon as you receive your text.

You can also book in at a local pharmacy from 1st October by clicking on the link below

Children's Flu vaccine is only available at the surgery

That's it for now

Dear Watton Patients
Hertfordshire County Council and Police are undertaking a survey to understand people's views and experiences of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in Hertfordshire. The results from this survey will be used to inform and shape Hertfordshire's new Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and help us understand what more can be done to prevent these forms of abuse by listening to lived experiences.
Everyone that lives in, works in or visits Hertfordshire are invited to take part in this survey. Although the survey uses the term ‘Violence Against Women and Girls’ throughout, responses are welcome from everyone regardless of their gender identity, age, sexuality, ethnicity or background.
The survey can be accessed using the link below:

https://surveys.hertfordshire.gov.uk/s/8PJ5MA/
The survey is now open and will close on Friday 19th September.
We would greatly appreciate your help in promoting this survey through any networks or social media channels you are able to for people that live in, visit or work in Hertfordshire.
If you have any questions about the survey or would like to request a print version of the survey, please email CCSU@hertfordshire.gov.uk.
Many thanks,

Please take a few minutes to take our survey.

Good morning Watton patients

A few bits of information you may find useful

Blood tests at all of the local hospitals and at Benington are very scarce at the moment. We don't have appointments at Benington until September 16th. I know there is at least a 3 week wait at Hertford County, QE11 and Lister.

Normally if it is an urgent test we can send a patient same day and they will be seen. At Hertford today patients are being asked to come back tomorrow when there will be a 2 hour wait.

We have had a couple of people request that a GP signs the back of their passport photos as proof of ID.

Unfortunately GP's do not do this anymore. It has been some years since they have done.
If you click on the link below it will show you who can sign.

https://www.gov.uk/countersigning-passport-applications/accepted-occupations-for-countersignatories

Over the next few weeks we are going to be very short staffed on nurses appointments. We have our Health care assistant who can do a lot of the things nurses can, apart from smears, children's immunisations and travel immunisations. So please bear with us you may have a longer wait for these services.

Regards

Anne
