I have always thought of September much like January, a new start (think it is the ex teacher in me).

Lets be honest, every day is a new start with a fresh page ready to be filled. But September always hits differently for me. Seasonal changes will gradually start appearing soon and I find it a good time to take stock of myself, my priorities and how I am showing up for myself.

●Is there anything I have been doing all year that is no longer working?

●Are there people in my life I haven't caught up with this year and I want to?

●Are there any new habits I wish to begin incorporating into my life?

I haven't posted on this page for some while 🙏🏻

I use this and Instagram for business and I will be honest and say my inclination to post has dwindled a little.

I am ok! More than ok! I just haven't been in the mood for social media as such.

So I am reflecting on that a bit today. My clients generally find me via Counselling Directory or Google searches, so I think while I wasn't feeling it... I felt I didn't NEED to post 😕

But I feel different today. So my reflections on this are:

■ It is not selfish to take a break from something.😇
■ It can be healthy to take a break from something! 💪🏻
■ We make no apology for our own needs 🤗
■ We can always reconnect 🤩

If there is something you haven't done in a while, such as read, contact a particular friend, get to the gym or follow up on a promise to yourself... maybe it might help to reflect on why that is?

Some local support for those who are grieving ❤️🙏🏻

On 8th May, we’re welcoming a small team from the NHS, Macmillan, and Cransley Hospice to our Pink Community Shed as part of Dying Matters Awareness Week (5–11 May). They’ll be here to gently open up conversations around end-of-life planning, what matters, what support is out there, and how to talk about it. Everyone’s welcome to drop in and chat 💬🤍

A little post gym cup of tea and a recharge using this glorious sunshine 🌞

We cannot eliminate the stress that may float our way today, but we can make a choice in how we handle it. And.... for now, as the mug indicates, nothing matters other than the tea and sunshine on my face for these few minutes. 😌

May the absence of stress be present, at least for moments for everyone today 🫶🏻

Growth can be hard to spot within ourselves sometimes, as it can show up in small, steady and gradual ways.
I wonder if some of these signs may resonate as an indication that growth really is happening?

Well we made it past January 🙌🏻💪🏻

I say it like that as I know many people find it long for various reasons... (cold/money/dark etc) I personally quite enjoy January. I find it quite a reflective month for me. Time to contemplate and make some decisions/plans.

But February is now here. Supposedly the month of love. Self Love is where it's at! ❤️ It starts with you.

In my image I have worded it all using "allowed". Stating that "you are allowed" to feel this way and that way. Giving you permission. But.... it's not me that gives you permission. IT'S YOU!! 😁🙌🏻💕

Try reframing the statements and making them yours...

✨️ I am allowed to slow down
✨️ I am allowed to put myself first
✨️ I am allowed to simply be and not be 'doing'

Or any of your own.....

Self love. Prioritise your needs.

I know when we are really struggling (and I mean REALLY struggling) and getting out of bed seems a huge challenge we need to start small. Small steps towards some clarity.

I saw this today and had to share it as maybe doing just one simple thing from this list could help someone even a tiny bit today.
