Parents won't always get it right. You may not have had the tools, but you do have the chance now.
Apologising isn’t weakness - it’s repair.
Adult children need to be heard; their feelings matter, and really listening can heal wounds that linger for years..

As parents, we may not have had the tools or know-how to always meet our children’s needs at the time. Apologising to them as adults, for what we didn’t know isn’t about blame: it’s about opening the door to repair. While we're here in this life, there’s always time to acknowledge, reconnect, and make amends. To do better, to be closer.

BWRT testimonial - overcoming panic attacks, severe health anxiety and IBS:

Sean described BWRT as being like flipping a switch on his panic attacks.

He said that after a few years of CBT, choosing to see me for BWRT was the best decision he’s ever made.

Sean's feedback:
I initially came to see Sarah after hearing about a new style of therapy (BWRT). I was very interested in trying this, as after having undertaken a couple of years of traditional CBT, it was only having a limited impact on my health anxiety.

I had suffered from health anxiety for many years with a particular focus on cancer, but around the time of the pandemic it flared up hugely - it ultimately led to having a panic attack in the office car park, which was perhaps the scariest experience of my life - and it formed a very unhelpful association between work and anxiety (fear of it happening again).

It was after this that I sought Sarah’s help - and what followed was a combination of BWRT and talking therapy. The initial BWRT was like flipping a switch on that panic attack - after one session, I have never had the fear and anxiety around it again - I can remember the event, but the sting has been completely removed from it. For this alone, I will be forever grateful to Sarah.

Since then, Sarah has provided me with a number of techniques to deal with the more chronic and low grade aspects of my health anxiety, including helping me to understand why it’s something I have to deal with in the first place. Whilst it will no doubt be something that I will always manage, I am now able to challenge my thoughts and deal with things far more proportionately - even to the point where I recently found a lump that I dealt with completely sensibly and without it taking up all the hours in my day - something that 5 years ago would have lead to months of near constant fear and panic.

Additionally, using BWRT Sarah has helped me to make huge improvements in my IBS symptoms that have plagued me since childhood, and most recently with a wasp phobia (I’m looking forward to testing myself later this summer!).

All in all, it would be an understatement to say that Sarah has helped and empowered me to change my life. She is incredibly kind and understanding, and has an incredible talent for giving you the best chance and tools to help yourself. Do go and see Sarah, even if other therapies haven’t been as successful as you’d hoped - it was the best decision I could have made.

I don’t even think that captures how grateful I am, but I hope it’s helpful as a review!

When your amygdala triggers a fight flight freeze response, your brain puts logic on hold so instinct can take over. It's not weakness, but survival wiring.

BWRT can help rewire maladaptive neural pathways.

🚨 Ever gone blank in a tense moment?
That’s your brain hitting the pause button on thinking so survival can take over.
Logic steps aside. Instinct takes the wheel.
It’s not weakness — it’s wiring.
Stay safe first. Make sense of it later.

Trauma is the internal impact, not just the event. Trauma responses aren't choices -they're survival.

Trauma isn't what happened to you. It's what happened inside of you as a result. Trauma response is not a choice. Remember this when supporting a traumatised person on their journey. They have not shut down, cowered, rolled over, run away or fought back out of choice. They're surviving.
