✨💚 Elf Day Dance at Oaktree Court! 💚✨

Today our wonderful community came together for a magical Elf Day Dance, and what a joyful celebration it was! With laughter, music, and plenty of festive sparkle, we honoured the incredible work of the Alzheimer’s Society while sharing moments of reminiscence, learning, and connection.

Our residents, families, and teams filled Oaktree Court with Christmas cheer— dancing, remembering treasured moments, and spreading the kind of joy that makes this season truly special. Seeing so many smiles was the greatest gift of all. 🎄💃🧝‍♂️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined in and dressed up. Together, we’re helping support those living with dementia and celebrating the memories that make us who we are. 🤍

🌼 A Lovely Visit from the WI Ladies! 🌼

Today we were delighted to welcome a wonderful group of ladies from the Women’s Institute who came to spend the afternoon reminiscing with one of our lovely resident here at Oaktree Court Care Home

It was heartwarming to see old friends reconnect, share memories, and enjoy stories filled with laughter and warmth. Moments like these remind us how powerful friendship and community can be. 💛

A big thank-you to the WI ladies for making the visit so special — we’re already looking forward to the next one!

“I’m so humbled and lucky to be here.” 🗨️

This Remembrance Day, amazing WWII veteran Ken from Oaktree Court Care Home proudly took part in The National Service of Remembrance Parade at The Cenotaph, leading the procession alongside fellow centenarian veterans.👏

Ken, who served from 1942 - 1946 and was saved by the historic Operation Zipper, shared his incredible story with BBC One and Sky News - reflecting on his service and what it means to still stand in remembrance today.

Today we Oaktree Court Care Home created a special collage of a horse adorned with beautiful red poppies to honour those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. 🕊️🌺

The poppy is a powerful symbol of remembrance, and combining it with the strength and grace of a horse felt like a meaningful way to reflect on courage, loyalty, and peace.
