Macmillan coffee Morning - thank you to everyone who so kindly supported our Coffee Morning last week in aid of Macmillan. We were delighted to see so many people joining the residents and staff and supporting this wonderful organisation. We made around £170 through our raffle and two guessing games. Our particular thanks to our wonderful staff for cooking such amazing home-made cakes - simply fantastic.

The residents, some staff and family members enjoyed a super day out yesterday to Meirion Mill. After a lovely run to the Mill everyone enjoyed coffee and cake, followed by lots of shopping and then lunch. Afterwards we all went down to look at the amazing pack-horse bridge, built in the 17th century and hidden below the now main road. We were blessed with nice weather. Our thanks to June and Nina for organising the trip and to Tim Platt for helping out.

The residents of Dorothy Hughes House, together with the Trustees and the Staff would like to extend their deep condolences to King Charles III together with the members of the Royal Family following the very sad loss of Queen Elizabeth II.

Many of our residents will remember the late Queen's Coronation having no doubt watched the occasion on small televisions and in the company of friends and neighbours. On Monday we will all be watching the funeral of Her Majesty, with great sadness.

Dorothy Hughes House was officially opened by Prince Charles, (at that time) The Prince of Wales. I am sure everyone involved will join me in saying God Save the King.

OPEN MORNING tomorrow - Saturday 9th July.
A reminder that we are holding our Open Morning between 10 am and 12 noon. If you are interested in finding out about Dorothy Hughes House do please pop in to see us tomorrow. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to our Committee Members/Trustees and our staff about this wonderful home for 'independent living for the actively retired' and to hear about our highly competitive rates. We look forward to seeing you.

OPEN MORNING -
We will be holding an Open Morning on Saturday, 9th July between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon at the House in Westwood Road, Welshpool.
If you would like to find out more about Dorothy Hughes House - and bring along a relative to view - we will look forward to welcoming you.
Our Trustee Committee members and some staff will be on hand to answer any questions that you have about the house, the way it is run and the first class, reasonably priced accommodation that we provide for the actively retired.
Light refreshments will be served from10.00 am.

We were delighted to welcome Craig Williams MP for Montgomeryshire, who visited the residents over the Easter weekend. There was lots of discussion about the Ukraine and Russia and lots of questions asked about how the UK is assisting the Ukranian people. With many thanks to Craig for his visit.
