Twice this week I’ve seen people go absolutely arse over tit trying box jumps 😬📦
Look, box jumps are a solid plyometric exercise — great for power, coordination, and athleticism… when they’re done by people who’ve actually built the foundation first 💪
But here’s the reality 👇
If you’re not a seasoned gym-goer, athlete, or into something like CrossFit, there are far safer ways to get the same benefits without risking your shins, knees, or worse.
Too many people are chasing the height instead of the quality of movement 🚫
👉 Start lower than you think you need
👉 Focus on a soft, controlled landing (not crashing onto the box)
👉 Step down — don’t jump down
👉 Build strength before chasing explosiveness
And let’s be honest…
If you can’t squat your own bodyweight with good form yet, box jumps should probably be swerved for now ❌
There’s no shame in building the basics. Strength first, power second.
Leave the ego at home. Train smart. Stay injury-free 🧠🔥
