👋🏼 Meet Charlie Morris - Senior Physiotherapist

With over 26 years of clinical experience - across the RAF, Nuffield Health, the NHS and private practice - Charlie brings an exceptional level of skill and precision to every patient she treats.

She holds an MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy and is a member of the MACP - a distinction held by fewer than two percent of UK physiotherapists, recognising advanced expertise in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment.

Her approach blends science and intuition; combining advanced manual therapy, acupuncture, and Pilates-based rehabilitation to restore strength and relieve pain – as well as rebuild confidence after injury.

Charlie’s background is as diverse as it is impressive. From supporting elite personnel during her six years with RAF Cottesmore, to leading rehabilitation programmes in both private and public sectors, she’s become a trusted physiotherapist for those seeking evidence-based results without compromise.

A former horse rider, Charlie has a deep understanding of posture, balance and the physical demands placed on the body - both in sport and daily life. Her sessions are grounded in detailed assessment and tailored progression – helping every patient move and live at their best.

We talk a lot about “training the body” - but everything starts in the brain 🧠

Every lift, sprint, ache or twinge begins as a tiny electrical signal. Your brain decides what’s safe and what’s painful. The more you understand that link - the better you recover and perform.

So here’s what’s really going on behind the scenes - how your body, brain and nervous system all talk to each other to keep you moving 👇

💥 The science of glute training - revealed.

Not all “glute” exercises are created equal 🦵

A 2023 study by Collings et al. modelled muscle forces across eight common hip-focused movements - and found each glute (maximus, medius, minimus) fires differently depending on load and position.

🔹 Single-leg RDLs and side planks were top-tier for the gluteus minimus (deep stabiliser).
🔹 Side planks and single-leg squats ranked highest for the gluteus medius (pelvic control).
🔹 Split squats, hip thrusts and loaded RDLs dominated for the gluteus maximus (power generator).

In short - one move won’t hit them all. The best programmes layer stability, control and force production.
