Here's a little look at our West Bridgford clinic.

As you can see, we've got a lovely spacious clinic with a lovely consultation space where we'll have a chat through your visit before your treatment, then a bathroom where you can change too.

We've got lots of appointments available this month here with Rosie and Sarah. You all came for post-Christmas appointments in January and February is much quieter, so if you've been waiting for a slot, now's your time!

Below is the third part in our client blog 😀

We've heard all about the booking and consultation and the start of the treatment. Here, we pick up during the colon hydrotherapy treatment 💜

"Jane chatted to me throughout, explaining what she was doing. I started to get some cramping in my stomach, a little like a mild period pain, so she asked me to change position on to my back. Once I had moved, the pain eased.

The weirdest and most uncomfortable part was when she jiggled the tube occasionally (to stimulate my bowel I think). That felt very strange but it only lasted about 2/3 seconds at a time.

The water temperature was changed occasionally too, something I could feel but only because Jane told me whenever she was doing it, I’m not sure I would have notice otherwise. It was very subtle.

What surprised me though was that I just chatted to Jane during the treatment, about holidays, family life and work and I didn’t feel uncomfortable in the least. I’d expected gushing water feelings, pain and lots of discomfort but none of that happened!

It got about 40 minutes in to the treatment and Jane started to express that we were almost done. But suddenly the cramping came back again.

I told Jane and she said we’d wait a few more minutes. Lots more waste was released, the cramping subsided again and then, the water was stopped and the tube removed.

After a minute or two, Jane asked me to head off to the bathroom and use the loo. She told me to take my time and not rush out, she expected me to be in there at least a good 10 minutes!

I stood up and instantly felt lighter. My tummy felt like a deflated balloon! Sadly Jane couldn’t remove my mum tum pouch but the bloating was completely gone and my stomach looked flat!"

Colon hydrotherapy removes waste, toxins and compacted faecal matter from the colon. Often, this has been stuck and causing discomfort to the person, so the relief after treatment is welcomed!

When we carry out treatments, we can also often pick up early signs of gut health related issues which mean we can send our clients to see their GP if needed.

Colonics are more than just vanity - they can be an important part of a wellbeing routine for many of our clients!

We're so grateful for our long-time clients!

Thankyou to our client Vanessa for this lovely review...

"I’ve been seeing Sarah for colonics for over 3 years and I can’t do without them or her. Sarah is very knowledgeable and puts you at ease with any issues or concerns I may have. The treatment itself, I find relaxing given the room is warm and cosy which creates a calming environment. Post treatment leaves me feeling amazing. Would 100% recommend."

Here's the second instalment of our client's first treatment blog. Scroll back a few posts for part 1.

“I headed through to the bathroom, had been asked to have a wee, then I stripped off my clothing and underwear from the waist down (apart from my socks, which apparently could stay on!) I’d been a bit nervous on the lead up as I’d been on my period but Jane had reassured me that it was fine and that as long as sanitary products were removed beforehand, there were no issues.

I was given a blanket to wrap around myself then I head back out into the clinic.

Jane asked me to lay down on the bed next and she started to explain the equipment to me and what would be happening. Firstly though, she had a feel of my tummy so she could figure out what may be going on.

She could immediately tell I had lots of trapped gas high up in my stomach. Things fell distended so she mentioned she would be using some Licorice Root and Fennel tincture in the water to help release the gases.

Jane got things ready and asked me to lay on my side. She started things off by inserting the tube which I couldn’t even feel. She asked me to relax and breathe deeply whilst she did this which really helped.

She then started the water flowing and apart from a slightly warm feeling, it didn’t feel weird at all!"

Third and final part to come next week.

When you leave the clinic after your colon hydrotherapy treatment, it's easy to think that it's done and dusted and that you can just go about your day as normal, but there are a few things to avoid to help your body readjust.

1️⃣ Don’t overeat. Eat simply cooked food and small portions. A diet rich in vegetables, (especially dark green and leafy) salads, and a little fruit will add to the cleansing effect and help to regulate the bowels.

2️⃣ Avoid rigorous exercise and weight lifting for 24 hours after treatment.

3️⃣ Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours.

4️⃣ If your digestion is weak, don’t drink with meals or for 30 minutes before or 1 hour after meals.

Head to the aftercare page on our website for more tips and advice about how to look after your body post-treatment.
