🗓 Monday 8th December
⏰ 5:00 – 7:00 PM

We’ll have a First Aid session delivered by the British Red Cross from 5:30 – 6:30 PM 🩹✨

This hands-on session will help children gain knowledge, confidence, and skills to handle emergencies safely.

Hello there, I hope you’re all doing well!
I’m here at Sandwell Deaf Community Association, or SDCA for short.
Did you know that SDCA has a Communication Service? This is our very own team of
interpreters, who are all registered with the NRCPD, i.e. the National Register of
Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind people.
They provide both remote and face-to-face interpreting services and are available in a wide
variety of different domains, including hospital appointments, meetings (including work
meetings), and 1:1 settings, to name a few.

Hello, my name is Craig, I am the 🎅 Wellbeing Coach at SDCA.

As you can see in what’s on this month, you can see what different groups are running this month.🎁

All the information on the 🕒 times, 📅 dates and 📍 venue is all on the poster for each group. Come along and join any group that you feel that you want to join or if you are unsure in which group to join in you can 📞 contact me for more information.

You can contact me through 📱 text / 💬 WhatsApp / 📹 video call / ✉️ email. Contact details can be found at the bottom of the poster.

Also, at the bottom of the poster there are 4 QR codes that you use with your phone camera to access the 📘 Facebook / 🐦 X / 📸 Instagram / 💬 WhatsApp channel.

The WhatsApp channel is used for the ✨ wellbeing services; it is used like social media, where the event posters are shared but you cannot see any names of members or you can’t comment on there.

If you see something that you are interested in on there, you can then 📩 contact me directly, separate from the group.

The SDCA Deaf Social Group meets every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at:

Stop for Life Transcript

Hello, my name is Craig, and I am the wellbeing coach at SDCA.

This video is to talk about the health group we had recently. We had a service called stop for life come along. Ian Hiscock who is the service lead, came to give information and advice on how to stop smoking and va**ng.

He gave tips and offered support, such as using ni****ne patches.

After the session he sent me the PDF where all of the information is available to have a look through, which could be useful if this is something you want to do.

However, the PDF is in written English and I know that it may not be your preferred language but it hasn’t been developed into BSL yet.

If you have a look at the information and you want to stop smoking or va**ng, you can get in contact with me, and I can get in contact with the stop for life Sandwell service, and we can all work together to support you.
