It’s been fantastic cheering on Team GB at the Winter Olympics these past couple of weeks ❄️⛷️ Here at Brook View, we’ve been joining in the fun with our very own mini Winter Games, bringing a little Olympic spirit and plenty of laughter to our residents 🏅

A musical treat at Brook View! 🎶

Nigel Revill recently performed classics from Elvis, Tom Jones, and The Beatles, and residents joined in with singing, tapping along, and sharing memories. A great afternoon!

An active and fun afternoon at Brook View 🎾

Residents played a ball-and-racket game with Companion Jo, aiming balls at targets and enjoying some friendly competition. Lots of smiles, laughter, and movement made for a great session that everyone enjoyed.

Baking our cake for the Colten Care Christmas Cake Challenge proved a real highlight of the season, made even better by claiming the prize for the Companion and Resident entry. The judges said our cake "stood out for its beauty, story, and sentiment."

We soaked the cake in sloe gin made by a resident who is sadly no longer with us. The residents wanted to use the gin as a way of ensuring their friend was still involved.

We recently welcomed St Anthony’s Choir today for a Christmas performance in the dining room. Residents listened, sang along, and enjoyed the familiar carols 🎶

A simple and enjoyable afternoon of music shared together.

Residents recently enjoyed a live music session, with team members: Keanu on guitar, Jo on flute, and Olivia singing. Home Manager Abhi made a surprise appearance for the final song!

During one piece, residents joined in with shakers and tambourines, filling the room with rhythm and smiles. Wendy Lucas said, “I really enjoyed the music — it was such a lovely afternoon.”

A lively and joyful afternoon, bringing music and fun to everyone.
