Residents recently enjoyed a wonderfully uplifting visit from Malcolm. The lounge was filled with smiles and energy as everyone joined in a lively warm-up with a giant balloon, followed by making music together, a sing-along, and a light-hearted quiz.

It was a joyful afternoon of shared laughter, movement, and music — a visit that residents were thrilled by and are already looking forward to repeating!

We've got a wonderfully festive weekend ahead at Brook View, with two seasonal events designed to bring our residents, families, and neighbours together.

🎁 Santa’s Helpers — Saturday 6th December, 2pm–4pm
A heart-warming afternoon where children of all ages can choose a special gift for a parent or guardian. Our residents will be on hand to help wrap and label each one, ready for Christmas morning.

🎄 Christmas Fayre — Sunday 7th December, 2pm–4pm
Join us for a relaxed celebration of the season, with charming craft stalls, mulled wine, mince pies, and the gentle soundtrack of festive music.

Whether you join us for one event or both, we look forward to welcoming you for a weekend of warmth, creativity, and seasonal cheer.

This afternoon at Brook View, residents enjoyed a calming session with Jane from Peaceful Pathways 🎶

From Tibetan singing bowls to Irish drums, the sounds created a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The session ended with a gentle meditation, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and content 💛

Residents from Brook View recently took time to unwind with a peaceful visit to Ham Common ☀️

Finding a quiet spot by the water, everyone settled with a warm cup of tea, watching boats slip across the lake and letting the calm of the surroundings set the pace. It was a gentle break from the everyday, offering space to pause, reflect, and enjoy each other’s company. As Stan said with a smile, “It was a lovely start to the day.”

To celebrate National Sandwich Day, residents got creative, assembling sandwiches with their favourite fillings.

The activity sparked lively conversation, with everyone sharing stories of favourite combinations and lunchtime memories. Excitement built as their creations came together, and by lunchtime, everyone was eager to enjoy the results of their imaginative efforts.

A simple, delicious way to bring smiles, chatter, and shared enjoyment to the day!

We recently welcomed Umber the therapy dog to Brook View and excitement filled the home as everyone waited eagerly for her arrival. She also made room visits for those who preferred some one-to-one time with her.

Residents had the chance to stroke and cuddle Umber — some even enjoyed cosy moments with her on their lap. Her visit brought so many happy smiles and lifted everyone’s spirits. We’re already looking forward to her next visit!

We recently had a visit from Boris, a local beekeeper, who gave a presentation on bees and beekeeping 🐝🍯

Boris and his son brought in several displays to show the process of how he keeps bee’s and extracts honey.

At the end of the presentation our residents were delighted to try some of his fresh honey, which they all agreed was delicious.Boris was kind enough to gift us five jars of his honey which were given to our chef to use in the future!

Residents at Brook View were thrilled to welcome alpacas Liquorice and Caramac to the home recently.

The adorable visitors made their way around the home, greeting everyone – including residents in their rooms, meaning everyone got a chance to stroke them. Their owner was also kind enough to answer all of our questions – making the visit an educational one, too!

The weather was not going to stop the residents from Brook View boarding The Friends of Dolphin boat for a cruise around Brownsea Island!

We departed from Poole Quay and enjoyed stunning scenery and relaxed with a cup of tea and some biscuits. In the end, the day turned out beautifully, with the rain holding off for the majority of the trip.
