This week, The Parachute Project is supporting Stress Awareness Week.

It is important to us that our work with children and young people helps them to identify what stress is and the negative effects it can have on their bodies and minds. We enable our clients to recognise situations that are stressful for them and to develop strategies for coping and reducing stress in their lives.

We encourage others to use this special weekto teach children what stress is, what the effects of stress are and how to manage stress effectively. Feel free to use our Stress Bucket resource to support with this:

Bonfire Night can be exciting, but for some—especially those who are neurodiverse or experience anxiety—it can feel overwhelming. With a little planning, it doesn’t have to be stressful.

We love the SENSES acronym from the National Autistic Society to help make the night more manageable:

S – Stick to a plan

E – Eat well and keep warm

N – Noise: use headphones or ear defenders

S – Safety speech for reassurance

E – Extra distractions like TV

S – Set an example with calm and confidence

Let’s make Bonfire Night enjoyable for everyone 💛

This is a question we get asked a lot and with good reason.

When you work with us to support your child's mental health, it means:
ACCESSIBILITY
➡️no lengthly waiting lists
➡️early intervention
➡️not time-limited (whilst we offer sessions in blocks of 8, we can be flexibile and will not discharge until all parties agree)

We work hard to make sure our prices are affordable.

We are happy to discuss each individual's situation - please feel free to call us on 01328 838 847 so we can make a difference to your child's mental health.

As Monday approaches, here are some 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹:

✅ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 – Check that uniforms are clean and bags are packed. Doing this with your child helps them feel in control.
✅ 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 – Talk through the week, focusing on the routine: wake-up, breakfast, get dressed, and head to school.
✅ 𝗣𝗲𝗽 – Reassure your child that big emotions are normal after a school holiday, and validate their feelings.

👀 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 can be a great tool for 𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙭𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮 and helping children feel prepared and confident about their day. This could be a schedule, checklist, or picture prompts—whatever works best for them!

Let’s support our children in stepping back into school feeling calm and ready to learn. 💜✨

✨ Build trust and connection
🧠 Encourage relaxation and emotional safety
🗣️ Support communication and self-expression
👀 Highlight behaviours and patterns in a natural setting

Through play, professionals gain insight while young people feel seen, heard, and supported—without pressure.
