We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Siny and everyone who took the time to attend the Health Promotion Event at the SDA Church this weekend.

It was amazing to see so many people gathered together to learn more about their health and wellbeing. Our stall, which focused on Breast Screening and general breast awareness information, was a huge success thanks to your interest and engagement. 🙏

The turnout was fantastic, and we're so grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with each and every one of you. We hope you found the event informative and enjoyable, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon! 😊

What an incredible honor for our Matron Siny Thankachan and the Avon Breast Screening Team, who won the Community Champion award at the staff NBT awards! 🎉

Their crucial work in promoting breast screening, awareness, and education has shone a light on the importance of breast screening, early detection, and self-examination. Ultimately, aiming to improve outcomes for those who may be affected by breast cancer.

Focusing on areas with low uptake of breast screening in Bristol, they work with community-based organizations to empower and support people to be able to take control of their health. Providing them with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their wellbeing. By doing so, they are helping to bridge the gap in health inequalities and promote a culture of breast health awareness in the community.

Congratulations to the entire team!

A huge thank you to each and every one of you from the Resound Church who took the time to join us and be a part of this important conversation on 01/11/25. Everyone we spoke to was not only engaged and interested but also keen to spread the word on all things breast screening, awareness, and health.

It was amazing to see passionate individuals come together to make a difference. We're thrilled to have had the opportunity to connect with you all and share valuable information that can truly make a positive impact on the community. 🫶Thank you to everyone who supported our Learning Disability & Autism Event (22/10/25) 🫶

We opened the doors at Avon Breast Screening (in partnership with Sirona care & health) to offer information & tours in a quiet setting for the Learning disability and Autism communities' to learn about breast cancer, screening and awareness as part of breast cancer awareness month.

A brilliant event, already looking forward to next years!

📣 Community MOT Event 📣

Once again DET Community are putting on a FREE Community health & info. MOT event.

This is one of our favourite events in the calendar, the access to a range different specialists, organisations & testing available is amazing.

Unfortunately, we are not able to represent Avon Breast Screening at this event but lots of our wonderful colleagues will be there to offer Breast Cancer & Screening information.

Drop in no appointment needed 22/11/25 at Malcom X Community Centre, 11am-4pm.
