🎸🎤 Rock ’n’ Roll Afternoon! 🎤🎸

We had an amazing time when Tara joined us to sing some classic rock ’n’ roll hits last week! 🎶✨
She had everyone smiling, toe-tapping, and singing along, and of course she was brilliantly supported by our very own Activities Coordinator (and star dancer!) Vanessa! 💃💫

A huge thank-you to them both for bringing so much energy, music, and joy into our home. 🌟❤️

☕💛 Our Last Family Coffee Morning of 2025! 💛☕

What a wonderful morning we had last week at our final Family Coffee Morning of the year! 🥰✨
We were delighted to welcome Millie, and of course the star of the show, little Esmae! 👶💖
As you can see, Ron was absolutely thrilled to have a cuddle! 🤗💞

Thank you to all the families who came along throughout the year and filled our home with warmth, laughter, and connection. 🌼💬
We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2026! 🎉🌟

Our residents brought the sparkle of the ballroom to our lounge today with "Strictly Come Hand Dancing!" ✨🤩 Who knew you could travel the world with just your hands?
We channeled our inner Madonna with some Voguing moves 💅, perfected the intricate mudras of Indian dance 🙏, felt the flow of Hawaiian Hula 🌊, and explored traditional steps like the German Schuplatter 🇩🇪 and the beautiful hand language of Thai Khon and Cambodian Romvong! So much fun and great for concentration! 🧠

Such a fun afternoon with our amazing residents! 💖 With their permission, we had a pamper session that was full of laughter and smiles 😄✨ Declan, Peter & Ron were curious to try makeup and wigs and the results had everyone in stitches! 😂💄🎀 Face masks were a hit too, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and pampered 🧖‍♀️💆‍♂️💖 Definitely an afternoon full of joy, fun, and lots of happy memories! 🌸💫

Our amazing activities superstars Dosh and Nicky have been featured in Kent Online for their incredible creativity here at St Michael’s.

They go above and beyond to help our wonderful residents express themselves, and have so much fun along the way. 🌈✨

Creativity hasn’t faded with age, it has evolved at this care home in Westgate-on-Sea.

World Kindness Day at St Michael’s 💛
Residents listened to the Metta Sutta, a Buddhist chant of loving-kindness 🕊️. While it played, they made thank-you cards 💌 and wrote personal messages for our staff 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️. A small act of kindness that carries a big meaning 🌷

The joy of activities at St Michael’s is their inclusivity 🎄✨. Whether residents join group sessions or prefer to stay in their rooms, everyone gets the chance to take part if they wish 💫. This week, each resident had the Christmas cake mixture brought to them to stir and make a special wish 🎂💭, filling our home with Christmas spirit and happiness for the festive season ❤️🎅.

At St Michael’s Care Home, we got creative making skewer sculptures inspired by the Matisse method 🎨✨. Residents explored shapes, patterns, and colours freely, experimenting without rules and letting their imaginations run wild 🌈💭. Working together and sharing ideas 🤝, they turned simple materials into vibrant creations, and once finished, imagined their sculptures as characters chatting with each other 🗣️🎭.
