Maskell and Uden in Westgate were proud to take part in their local remembrance service on Sunday, at St Saviour's Parish Church.

We shall stand silent on 11/11 at the eleventh hour, to remember our fallen.

We Remember

The poppies bloom where hero's rest,
their crimson hearts upon the breast.

they gave their all, their dreams, their days'
we stand in silence, give them praise.

Why do we wear poppies on Remembrance Day?

We wear poppies on Remembrance Day to Honour and remember soldiers who died in war.

The red poppy Became a symbol of remembrance after World War 1,because poppies grew on the battlefields where many soldiers lost their lives.
The flower reminds us of their sacrifice and the importance of peace.
