The popular Santa Paws returned to St Georges with cute dogs of all shapes and sizes visiting Santa in his grotto! The dogs looked fabulous in their Christmas jumpers they definately dressed the part.
Thank you so much to Anna who baked all the dog treats for Santa's gifts, they really did gown down a treat! Anna brings in Pets As Therapy dog Callie regularly to the home and residents love seeing both Anna and Callie.
There were plenty of photo opportunities with just the dogs and then dogs and children with Santa. There were also doggy sweet bags for sale which were popular on the residents' stall along with the puppuccinos St Georges made sure these family members were catered for!

Today's Christmas Fair at St Georges was a magical family festive event.
Father Christmas was very busy with his grotto having a stream of children and pooches (lots more photos to follow of Santa Paws and little ones!). There was a fabulous variety of stalls from local crafters, a tombola, face painting, delicious home-made cakes and even puppuccinos for all the four-legged friends! What is always so special about these events is seeing the generations come together there were four generations of families joining in the fun today.
St Georges were delighted to have so many visitors from the community as well with St Georges Players attending to promote their up and coming pantomime Mother Goose, the characters from the panto added to the atmosphere of the day. Thank you so much to The Mayor of Weston-super-Mare for taking the time to visit the home again, it was so appreciated.
The tombola, face painting and grotto were fundraising for local charity Springboard Opportunity Group and we were delighted to be joined by trustee Beth who assisted with the grotto. This local charity supports children with disabilities enabling them to learn and flourish. We don't have the final total but over Β£100 has been raised.
The home's amazing volunteers Jane and Diane along with Jane's family did a sterling job making never ending cups of tea and coffee as well serving up the cakes and sweet bags. Jane was the winner of the "Guess the Name of the Bear" with Fudge and we are delighted the bear will stay in the home with her dad; thank you Diane for such a kind home-made donation. A special mention also has to go to Jacob who baked the delicious cakes who was also celebrating his birthday - Happy Birthday Jacob! In addition to fundraising for Springboard the stalls were also adding to the residents' fund for future events and outings. Thank you so much to everyone who came along today and made it sparkle.
Another day to remember at St Georges!

π Project Sunshine π
What are small things to some can be hugely meaningful to others and for resident Susan children are her happiness.
Susan spent years working as a primary school teacher & her gentleness and fondness of children shines through in her eyes and smile. With the help of Tessa who is herself a teacher & Sophia her daughter Susanβs day was brought to life as Sophia spent time with Susan β€οΈ
The visit began with a handmade Christmas card from Sophia to Susan, followed by time with Sophia reading a Christmas story to Susan. No words were needed as the sparkle in Susans eyes and the warmth in her smile showed just how much the visit meant to her. Sophia enjoyed telling Susan stories about herself and her sister and their mischievousness while giggling and sharing her memories with Susan.
Tessa & Sophia have offered to return for future visits to spend time with Susan which shows such kindness and we are deeply grateful for this here at St Georgeβs as are Susans family.
Beautiful moments and memories created for a beautiful soul Susan πβ€οΈπβ€οΈ

At St Georges Nursing Home we strive to provide the highest level of care in a comfortable and safe environment.
The home is purpose built and was completed in 2012. Accommodation is provided over two floors and is furnished to the highest standard.
Our experienced staff take pride in providing our residents with holistic care, taking into account everyoneβs individuality and diversity. The combination of committed staff and our purpose built home-from-home, makes us the ideal choice for those seeking care for themselves or a loved one.
When we say home-from-home, we mean it. Our home is based around four households, each with their own kitchen/dining room. We cook together, eat together and play together, meaning that our residents can be as involved in the daily life of the home for as long as they are willing or able to.
We can offer couples either paired single rooms or a shared bedroom with an adjacent private lounge. We find this works particularly well when both partners need care and when partners wish to stay together.
