Check out the range of classes and join me on Friday mornings, 9:30 to 10:40, for Gentle Hatha that is suitable for everyone whether you're on the mat or in a chair! 🥰🌳

If you want to return to yoga this September following a break, here at Earth Tree we have lots of classes suitable for those with intermediate or improving yoga knowledge.

We offer:
Improvers Hatha Flow - Mondays 7.45-8.45pm
Dynamic Vinyasa Flow - Tuesdays 7.30-8.30pm
Vinyasa Flow - Thursday mornings 9.30-10.30am
Yin/Yang Vinyasa - Thursday evenings 6.45-7.45pm

Break out your fuzzy socks because our weekly yoga practice is about to get cosy!

Autumn is the season for introspection. It’s a time when we reflect upon the year and decide what to leave behind and what to carry forward to sustain us through the winter. The season is reflected in our practice with slower movement, longer holds, and deep breathwork to keep lungs healthy and calm the mind.

In Ayurveda, Autumn is known as Vata season – the season of the winds – which may leave us feeling uprooted, scattered, even irritable. Yet others find the bracing winds invigorating, liberating, which is why it’s important to honour your own unique needs in class. The practice on your mat is yours alone, so it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing.

What will your harvest be? How will you nurture yourself, your community, this Autumn?

How can gentle yoga be advanced?

🌿Slowing down requires discernment
🌿Moving with the breath requires skill.
🌿Remaining mentally present requires discipline.
🌿Carrying the internal lessons from the mat out into our communities requires intentional empathy

Gentle yoga demands the best in us physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Working with me, you’ll find I’m rarely on my mat because you’re there to discover your practice, not to be my audience. I'm not the feature act; I'm a guardian of your self-care. Mindfulness is the focus, character development is the point, not acrobatics or weight loss.

When our bodies begin to change at midlife it may come as a bit of a shock! Aches and pains, wrinkles and stiff joints, curves appear in unexpected places. We might seek external advice and are often met with rhetoric about anti-ageing and weight loss, usually by someone trying to shame us into buying an expensive product. Why wouldn’t we become self-conscious about how we look when our body doesn’t represent the youthful ideal?

What if there was a movement space that normalised these changes, worked in harmony with them rather than fabricating guilt or embarrassment? You’re still you, just in a body that is transforming.

Based on over 20 years experience, I specialise in gentle yoga for those in curvy, ageing, and inflexible bodies at midlife and beyond making it not just accessible, but comfortable and illuminating.

As a teacher at midlife myself, I manage my own osteoarthritis and osteopenia, adapting as it varies throughout the seasons. Students witness firsthand how I myself honour my own changing needs with gentle movement and props. But my classes aren’t about you imitating me; they’re about you discovering your own variations of movement and breathwork creating an environment that normalises and celebrates our individuality.

This is what self-care in community looks like.

Not comparing poses, but the stories we share. Real laughter, genuine conversation, and the way we hold space for each other. A place where people feel safe to be themselves, and moments when we remember we're not walking this path alone.

After more than 20 years of practice and 1000 hours of training, I've learned that the most profound healing happens when we stop performing and start reaching out to each other, exactly as we are.

This is the community we've built together, where your struggles are met with understanding, your victories are celebrated, and your presence is enough.
