What a memorable afternoon! 🎶✨

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our Friendship and Entertainment Social last week, and it’s safe to say it was full of smiles, laughter, and fantastic energy from start to finish💃🕺

From the music to the dancing, and most importantly the wonderful company, it was heartwarming to see everyone come together and truly enjoy themselves. These moments are what it’s all about - creating joy, connection, and lasting memories

We had another fabulous afternoon last Tuesday at our monthly Companionship Cafe in Wetherby!

Hazjak joined us to entertain everyone and got us up on our feet to dance along💚

We are incredibly proud of our Community Engagement Lead, Tess, for completing her training with Alzheimer's Society to become one of their Dementia Friends Ambassadors💚

This means she can now deliver Dementia Friend's Sessions to the people in our community and help them better understand how they can support people living with dementia

This has taken a lot of time and hard work and we are thrilled she now has this achievement🎉

She delivered her first session yesterday to our new starters on their training programme!

For many families, the bank holiday weekend is a rare chance to spend quality time together and sometimes, it can highlight things we hadn’t fully seen before.

Dementia symptoms like forgetfulness and confusion are a little easier to spot. But there are a whole host of challenges that a person can also experience that aren’t immediately obvious. This can include things like anxiety, depression and overwhelm, to name but a few.

Sometimes this experience can be likened to an iceberg, as illustrated here, showing that what is visible to others is often only a small part of someone’s reality.

A CAREGiver visits the elderly in the comfort of their homes, takes them shopping, encourages independence, light domestic duties, assists with personal care and of course offers a great deal of friendship and companionship. Excellent rates of pay plus mileage allowance. One Hour minimum visits so no rushing around!
