We are so excited to share some fantastic news from Ashfield Nursing Home 🎉

Thanks to everyone’s kindness and generosity, we have finally raised enough money in our residents fund pot to purchase a large touch screen from the The TouchScreen Company 💛

This amazing new addition offers a wide range of apps, games, and sensory activities for our residents to enjoy. It has already brought so much fun and engagement, encouraging residents to interact, play, and explore in a way that suits all abilities.

The touch screen provides fantastic benefits — supporting cognitive stimulation, improving coordination, and promoting social interaction as residents gather together to take part. It also offers calming sensory experiences, helping to relax and comfort those who need it.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible — it truly makes a difference to our residents’ daily lives ✨

At Ashfield Nursing Home, we are now all Easter ready 🐣🌸

Our home has been beautifully decorated with bright colours, Easter crafts, and lovely seasonal touches, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. The residents have had a wonderful time getting involved, helping to decorate and sharing in the excitement.

Getting ready for Easter has been a great way to bring everyone together, encouraging creativity, conversation, and plenty of smiles. Activities like this help boost wellbeing, give residents a sense of purpose, and create a real feeling of community within the home 💛

At Ashfield Nursing Home, we recently celebrated Mother’s Day with a lovely afternoon tea ☕🌸

It was a wonderful occasion, and all of our residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and a real sense of togetherness as everyone relaxed and treated themselves.

One staff member shared how lovely it was to see all the mums enjoying themselves, making special memories and feeling truly celebrated 💛 A resident also said how much they love afternoon tea, which made the day even more special.

Events like this are so important for our residents’ wellbeing — they provide an opportunity to socialise, boost mood, and create happy moments that bring comfort and joy. It’s these little celebrations that make a big difference.

A massive thank you to Trevor Woodhouse for coming and singing at Ashfield Nursing Home 🎶

Your visits bring so much joy and make a real difference to our residents’ wellbeing. Live music like this helps lift spirits, sparks happy memories, and encourages everyone to come together, sing along, and socialise 💛

One resident shared how much they love it when Trevor comes, and another said how much they enjoy the songs you sing and play — it truly brightens their day and gives everyone something special to look forward to.

This week in our arts and crafts session we spent time getting ready for Mother’s Day by doing some lovely flower arranging. 💐

Our residents absolutely loved the activity and really enjoyed bringing their creative flair to their arrangements. One resident shared that they love flower arranging and haven’t done it in ages, so it was wonderful to bring back such a special hobby.

Our staff also said how much they enjoy these sessions, especially the beautiful smell of all the fresh flowers filling the room while everyone is creating their arrangements. 🌸

Activities like flower arranging are not only enjoyable but also have many benefits for our residents. They encourage creativity, help improve dexterity and coordination, and provide a calming, relaxing activity that can spark happy memories and conversation.

It was a lovely session filled with smiles, creativity, and the scent of fresh flowers as we prepared for Mother’s Day. 💖

🎨🐣 Arts & Crafts Fun This Afternoon! 🐣🎨

In today’s group activity, our residents enjoyed getting creative with some arts and crafts by making colourful Easter door hangs. Everyone had a wonderful time colouring and designing their decorations, and it was lovely to see so much creativity and enjoyment around the table. 🌸

One member of staff shared, “I love when residents are having fun.” Moments like these really do make the day special. 💛

One of our residents also said, “I like colouring,” which perfectly summed up the relaxed and happy atmosphere during the activity.

Well done to everyone who took part — your Easter decorations look fantastic! 🐰🌷
