Wharfedale House is a home providing a range of services for adults with physical disabilities. Wharfedale House is a purpose-built home in Wetherby, a lovely market town in Yorkshire. The house is only a few hundred yards away from the market square and has extensive views of the River Wharfe and surrounding countryside. Wetherby is perfectly placed between Leeds, Harrogate and York. Leeds is a vibrant city with plenty of attractions, festivals and music events, while York is well known for its architecture and café culture. Harrogate is a popular tourist destination, famous for its spas and tea houses. Residents can also visit the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors. Our residents make sure their home has a lively atmosphere. At their request, we offer a wide range of activities such as arts and crafts, computing, music and floristry. There are also various events held in the home such as barbeques and an annual fete. Wharfedale House has its own charity shop in Wetherby, where residents like to get involved by holding fundraising events. Our fully-trained staff work hard to ensure everybody here is happy in their home. We pride ourselves on putting our residents first and we support everybody to be both independent and to take part in community activities as they wish.

Basic hourly rate - £12.62 per hour, up to £14.62 per hour with enhancement.
A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.

As a Team Leader with Leonard Cheshire you will motivate and supervise your team, ensuring the delivery of care, personal support, daily living tasks and activities to our customers. You will provide support to attain full potential, maximising options available, encouraging choice, participation and motivation.
You will:
• Have a level of professional development and registration (i.e. NVQ/SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, L4 NVQ/SVQ in team leading or management.
• Be experienced in working within a relevant care setting.
• Have experience in supervising a team.
• Be able to work flexibly within rostered hours and prepared to participate in an on-call rota as required.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Have a full, clean driving licence to travel and cover work allocated on the rota (Support at Home roles only).

Working within the constraints of the budget, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen and formal supervision of kitchen staff, delivering nutritionally balanced, varied and attractively presented meals.
You will:
• Have experience working in a kitchen environment.
• Have a recognised catering qualification (Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate and additional HACCP accreditation or Level 4 Food Hygiene Certificate, or commitment to work towards this).
