We had the most amazing afternoon yesterday. Our residents have endured months of noise & upheaval for the refurbishment and the party was a huge thank you to them all. Jane Beaumont was perfection as always. Canapés were delicious along with the champagne. Great afternoon & thank you to everyone for their hard work

We have had a busy and fun filled Halloween this week.
Housekeeping won our Pumpkin Carving Competition with a spectacular pumpkin. It was a resounding first place. 2nd place was from the Assisted Living Care Team. Of course the Activity ladies dressed up for the occasion. We also had a great afternoon of Halloween Bingo. Who doesn't love a game of Bingo with lots of great goodies bags as prizes. Thank you Anne & Graham for a lovely afternoon.

This is Maria one of our many lovely residents here at our home in Weybridge.
Maria moved into our home last year in July with her son Gianni...unfortunately her son was very poorly and passed away not long after he had been here with us, which was very sad.

When Maria lived at home she was known in her road for having the most beautiful roses in her front garden, (she even use to enter local garden competitions). Her very good friend and neighbor (Ross) in the picture below said her garden was stunning.

Now Maria wanted to have a rose planted in the garden of her now as she says "new home" and a remembrance rose of her and her son Gianni. This is one of her favourite roses and it's called "Peace"...doesn't it look beautiful...our gardener took quite a bit of time to decide where to put this and he's clearly done a great job as it's absolutely blossomed. 🌹
When talking to Maria she said there is a story behind this rose....so of course I had to know this story!....Maria said " A soldier at war wrote to his mother one day and said I will send you a rose which is called "Peace" and I hope & pray for peace around the world"....Ever since then this has been her favourite rose.

When we all looked at the plant, we said...the one that is already open is Gianni's...yours is the one next to it Maria...growing 😊🌹

When Maria now goes out in the garden, she can go over to "her" rose and remember all the wonderful things her and her son have done over the years and know that he is now at "Peace". 💛

We would like to say a huge "Thank You" to Venture another one of our contractors who have been working here at our home during our refurbishment who have also donated an amazing amount of money £500.00 for our nominated charity "BRACE".

On the right we have Stuart Spencer Operations Director and on the left is Declan Weafer who has been our on site Manager since our refurb started...they have really become part of the Weybridge family !

Venture was established in 2015 in Hampshire.
They have grown year on year and specialise in interior refurbishments, alterations and small building works with a range of commercial and domestic clients including the insurance industry, care home organisations, health care sector and education.

They have been a brilliant team since the minute they stepped through our doors and are doing an amazing job renovating our home.

Once again a big thank you Stuart for such a generous contribution to a very worthy charity. 😁🙏

So yesterday was "World Heart Day" so once again we are trying to raise money for a very worthy charity and so we held a raffle for the residents which they were very excited about...and today we have put them to work decorating cupcakes which the residents are making this morning for us to sell this afternoon !

In life sometimes it's the "little" things that are important and you can clearly see this here for all our residents winning a raffle prize.

If you are here this afternoon visiting our home, we would be grateful for a "Donation" to help us raise some money and take make sure you take away some yummy cupcakes ! 😁🧁

A fabulous Macmillan day......we have raised a minimum of £126.00 as we know a number of people have donated through the QR code on the collection box....a huge thank you to all who have helped us achieve this.💚

We will leave the Macmillan collection box at "Concierge" over the weekend. If anyone else would like to donate it would be much appreciated....as we all know it's for a very worthy cause. 😁🥰💚

Yesterday was "National Art Day"
We have some amazing residents here at Weybridge with quite a bit of a talent!
Our art classes over the months have really grown substantially we are also lucky to have the lovely Joy here at Weybridge who looks after the weekly classes and we also have some amazing activity ladies that come in to do all sorts of art type classes.

A study found that doing 45 minutes of creativity can significantly reduces stress... Art also offers, emotional expression, improved self-esteem, and enhanced mental health.

Wouldn't you agree we have some very clever residents here at Weybridge 😁🎨
