Important Information Regarding the Meningitis Outbreak

Recent news about the meningitis outbreak may raise concerns for parents.

Some cases in this outbreak have been identified as MenB. The MenB vaccine is offered at the following ages:
• 8 weeks
• 12 weeks
• 1 year
Current routine UK immunisation guidelines do not recommend administering the MenB vaccine after the age of 2 years.

Current NHS Vaccination Schedule

MenACWY vaccine is given at school to children aged 14 and over.
GP practices are able to give this vaccine to patients who missed it at school, up to the age of 25.

Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions to this NHS schedule at this time.

Staff will be participating in the Weymouth Parkrun on Saturday 7th March 9.00am.

The parkrun usually takes place every Saturday 9.00am at Lodmoor Country Park, starting at the back of Lodmoor carpark, but as the parkrun is still on the 'winter route' (until 4th April), it will be starting at the Greenhill end of the beach wall, alongside the sandpit/paddling pool. The run, walk or jog will be along the seafront.

NOTICE OF IT UPGRADE AT THE BRIDGES MEDICAL PRACTICE

The Bridges Medical Practice is scheduled for an IT upgrade on Friday 6th February. From approximately 1.00pm to 1.30pm, our services will experience interruptions. This will impact both our telephone and computer systems.

The Littlemoor Surgery will be running as normal, please contact them for any urgent matters during this interruption.

We expect to resume to normal operations shortly after this period, and we appreciate your patience in case of any delays.
