John Corner funeral service limited is a professional and sympathetic service from a local, long established independent family business of over 38 years. We have served the local community by providing help and guidance which we hope to uphold the fine tradition of care, respect and understanding that has become the hallmark of our well established family business that has been built on trust and recommendation. We pride ourselves in giving each family the highest standard of service at all times. John Corner and his wife Edith took over the local funeral business in 1975 where John worked his apprentice with the previous owner. He has continued to run it under his own name as a family concern for the past 38 years. His daughter Wendy and husband Kevin have now taking over the running of things as they have done since 2010. We are a dedicated team who are there to offer families all the support, assistance and much needed reassurance and sympathy that they need at this sad and difficult time of upset and worry. Beloved wife of the late Tony, loving mum of Rebecca and Robert, mother in law of Melvyn and Debbie, adored grandma of Natalie, Amelia, Leonie, Felicity and the late Andrew and Kallie, great grandma of Olivia, Lucie, Blossom and Romy, and her first great grandson expected in December.
Service to be held at St Hilda's R C Church, Whitby, on Wednesday 26th November at 11.00 am, followed by interment at the cemetery. Good Morning,
We would like to let you all know that we are holding our annual Memorial Carol Service at St. Hilda's Church, West Cliff, on Friday 5th December 2025 at 7.00 pm.
Churches Together will be taking the service and openly invite you and your family to attend what we hope will be an evening of friendship and remembrance, please feel free to invite other families and friends you know who may benefit from this service.
Light refreshments will be provided in the church following the service.
Donations this year will be sent to the Alzheimer's Society.
Please telephone if you, family or friends will be attending the service on 01947 880424, or message us on Facebook, Messenger or email,
this will allow us to provide service sheets and refreshments for those attending.
