BEER TASTING AT THE DISPENSARY This Saturday 20th December 1-3pm, come and try our lovely vegan gluten free festive beers from Brass Castle Brewery, Malton CHRISTMAS KITTY 5.5% Porter, Snow Eater 4.8% Pale Ale, Fifty Shades of Ginger 7% - free samples and a warm festive welcome with lovely Bernadette, Andy and Zoe :) Also, 10% of all beers and wines until we close at 1pm on Christmas Eve! Wow! We got there! After deep snow and bad weather meant our first workshop was postponed... we had our first weaving workshop led by lovely Penny on Saturday 6th December at The BeeArc Hives of Activity, The Reading Room, Goathland. We have two floor looms and a variety of smaller looms to try. What a creative and therapeutic day it was, with a lovely lunch of soup and plenty of tea and cake intervals :) We are planning an Open Day and more workshops in the New Year so watch this space :) Or contact us to leave your name and details. At our recent book - themed Hive Night, the lovely group of people there decided they would like to form a book club and so The Dispensary Book Club was born! If you would like to join, please contact Bernadette on 07941715140. We plan to choose a book and meet every 6 weeks to discuss over tea and cake :) We look forward to welcoming you.

Hope Whitby is a missional community based in Whitby.
They support the community in various ways such as a free at the point of need food bank, weekly warm space - including a free breakfast, men’s/women’s groups and ‘Wings’ a project aimed at alleviating period poverty.
The Dispensary would like to support them and have offered to be a drop off point for sanitary products for the Wings of Hope programme.
No girl or woman should have to worry about not having protection.
Please bring your donations to the shop and we will gladly pass them on.

Amazon’s Black Friday cruelty: Live crabs for sale.

This isn’t a deal. It’s a dealbreaker.

Amazon is now shipping live crabs straight to people’s homes. Boxed up with barely any protection, they are at risk of injury, suffocation, and even death in transit. And for those who survive the journey, the suffering doesn’t stop. Many are stored in freezers until it’s time to cook them, then boiled or cut open while still alive and fully conscious. Their entire journey is one of cruelty.

Crabs are sentient animals. They feel pain. And yet they’re treated like disposable products. Amazon is still profiting from suffering. This Black Friday, let’s show Amazon that compassion is stronger than cruelty.
