We were proud to be at the Crustacean Compassion event on 21st January at the House of Commons, to support Crustacean Compassion in the crucial work they do to improve the welfare of crustaceans such as crabs, lobsters and langoustine ( scampi) which are still routinely subject to cruel treatment such as boiling and dismembering whilst conscious, despite being found to be sentient creatures, capable of feeling pain. Please support this amazing charity in the work they do.

We were delighted to be part of this event on Wednesday, supporting Crustacean Compassion in the crucial work they do to improve the welfare of crustaceans such as crabs, lobsters and langoustines Crustacean Compassion .

Yesterday we were proud to bring together MPs, policymakers, animal welfare advocates, and our incredible ambassadors and supporters in Parliament to kick‑start Crustacean Compassion’s 10‑year anniversary celebrations!🦞

✨The event marked a powerful moment of unity around one shared goal: ensuring that crabs, lobsters, and other decapod crustaceans receive the legal protections and humane treatment they deserve.

🦀 As we reflected on progress since the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act recognised decapods as sentient beings, we also looked ahead to our ambitious plans for the year - continuing to push for meaningful policy change, raising public awareness, and championing kinder practices across the UK - pushing for their inclusion in Animal Welfare Act (2006).

⭐ It was inspiring to see so many committed voices in one room. Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to stand with us.

Please sign and share , thank you. We continue to campaign for an end to non -stun slaughter, but until this happen we call for all meat to be labelled as stunned or non-stunned so that buyers are aware.

We continue to call for an end to all non-stun slaughter and ineffective stunning at slaughter.

As an interim measure, we are also calling for all meat to be labelled to specify if it comes from animals that were stunned/not-stunned, allowing people to make informed choices.

Just a couple of pics from our awareness and fundraising day for Compassion in World Farming before Christmas, here's Lucy from our local support group for Compassion in World Farming with Karen, one of our lovely members who supported the fundraiser :) We raised £80 for Compassion in World Farming through our guess the name of the lamb fundraiser and £50 from Christmas card sales.
