We are delighted that residents and staff at Wessex Lodge Nursing Home received their third dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The booster vaccination is being rolled out nationally, and care home residents and staff are at the top of the vaccine priority list.

Michelle Hart, the Home Manager of Wessex Lodge Nursing Home, said: "Our residents and staff have welcomed the booster vaccine, and we are grateful for the support received from the Whitchurch’s Two Rivers Medical Partnership and for carrying out the vaccinations at the Home. We are committed to doing everything we can to keep our residents as safe as we can.”

The Home has followed stringent procedures to keep everyone safe. It welcomes new residents with clear admission protocols to ensure the transition period into the accommodation is safe both for new and existing residents.

Evelyn was concerned about being a hindrance at her grandson’s wedding but was excited to plan the wedding with him.

So the team arranged for Evelyn to join the party - virtually. In her best dress, Evelyn watched with delight and tears of joy in her eyes.

Meet Michelle Hart, Home Manager of Wessex Lodge and Berehill House Nursing Homes. Michelle is an experienced Home Manager who deeply cares about the wellbeing of people living and working in the home.

She said: "I would like to say a heart-felt thank you to everyone, who has worked so hard to keep our spirits high, and continues to keep going. We have become more of a close-knit family throughout this pandemic, working closely together, and supporting each other beyond our daily working lives. We have had good days, and we have had bad days. But the spirit and dedication of the team here to keep our residents well and happy, and the support from the local community will be something we will always remember."
