Velindre public sessions on the future of the Whitchurch Hospital

We wanted to remind you about our upcoming public drop-in sessions on the future of the Whitchurch Hospital site to hear your views.
The informal sessions will provide a space where you can ask the team questions and share your thoughts about the next steps for the site.
We’re holding two public sessions at Whitchurch Hub on Park Road, CF14 7XA.
The first session will take place on November 17 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
These sessions are part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the community informed and involved as plans for the site progress.

Today is and back in the day we had an X-ray department at Whitchurch Hospital.

The gentleman in the photo is Bill Sutherland
Head of medical physics, identified by his daughter over on our Instagram page (a few years back) - thank you so much

Some may not be aware of the military history associated with Whitchurch Hospital.

During the First World War, the hospital was renamed The Welsh Metropolitan War Hospital and officially opened on the 9th of June 1915. The first wounded soldiers arrived a week later.
