Meal prepping……. If I’m not prepared my food choices can be affected!

I’m following a SIBO diet at the moment thanks to support from Joanne at .health I was diagnosed with Small intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) in December 25. SIBO can go undiagnosed for years and I’m sure mine has been something I’ve had in and off throughout my life. I would manage symptoms with juicing, fasting and periods of eating healthy and then something in my life would go wrong and I’d reach for chocolate! If I was time poor I’d still eat healthy meals but they’d be rushed and usually a basic salad, pasta, bread or anything else on offer.

Following this SIBO plan has really opened my eyes and nutrition to new forms of carbs. Welcome carrots! Squash, celeriac instead of potatoes which I was eating lots of especially being the mum of two boys and living in a male dominated household.

It can be inconvenient following this SIBO diet plan but it suits me to do this rather than take strong antibiotics. It’s working and I’m nearly at the end of my plan. I already have more energy and I’m thinking much clearer too. A lot less gassy and easy bowel moments. I’m feeling fab.

It’s microbiome testing and it’s been a game changer in my life and the lives of my clients.

This was a game changer for me and when I miss a morning I really notice the difference.

New uniform, new room and a lovely new client today. I’m feeling brand new and so is she! I’m feeling so happy I had to share 🌺

I had a lovely client today who has been water fasting. She’s an experienced water faster and she has had some incredible results doing this but she was experiencing some constipation, gas and blostedness. After a colonic, wheatgrass e***a and some sound healing she was feeling great and excited to get home to some sauerkraut for lunch!

Basically, although taught differently, they are all primarily the same - originating from Source, working for the greater good and wellbeing of the recipient - none better than any other. Food prep! Fail to plan or plan to fail!

Breakfast for my clients Id always recommend planning something like this lovely chia pudding or overnight oats. I always make once and eat 3 times which means that I make 3 breakfasts in one day. Eat one of them and have the other 2 ready to eat for the following 2 days.

Recycle your old jam jars or similar sized jars to save money and also help our planet 🌍

Here’s a recipe for you to try. I don’t use exact measurements cos that just takes up too much time. I love to throw things together and see how it turns out. This one’s a goodie 🩵

Chia pudding Recipe 🌱
3 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 large tablespoon of Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Mix together till combined and then add coconut milk to about 3/4 way to fill your jar (I’m using a jam jar)
Mix it all together and then leave for about 30mins so the chia seeds can soak up the liquid. Add more milk if it’s too thick or you like it runnier.

When you’re ready to eat …
Top with fruit (I usually use berries but I ran out so I found an apple today in the fridge!)
Pumpkin seeds - great for your gut
Walnuts - awesome for your brain

I love chia seeds because they really can act as a broom for your bowel. Another reason to love them so you can have a lovely poo!

I’m out of clinic till January. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Wishing you all the best for 2024.

Just a few tips to help you through the holiday season….

Lemon and water first thing to cleanse could save you! Honestly it’s my number one rip and helps to hydrate you and your colon and can also stimulate a bowel movement 💩

Keep up your exercise routine. This works mentally physically and emotionally. It releases your feel good endorphins, helps your heart, increases your circulation which also helps detoxification and eliminates lethargy.

Find some time for you to be alone in the madness, meditate or walk in nature intact walk outside with friends family alone or with your doggies. It’s a little reset and a gift to your soul. Wrap up warm!

Practice some self love. Recognise your proud moments eg making that Xmas dinner, dishing out your energy to everyone and everything. You’re amazing. Don’t forget it.

Here’s a reminder to stay hydrated especially when the weather is hot as it has been.

One of the questions on our consultation form is how much water do you drink? Most people say 2litres. In fact 2 litres is a minimum amount that we should be drinking especially if you’re suffering with constipation. 3 to 4 litres is perfect! It’s not easy to do this on a daily basis and keeping track of your water intake although it sounds quite boring is also important so get a bottle or something you can use to measure and keep track of it.

Are you drinking enough water. When my clients come to me they’re always surprised at my chart in the clinic which shows what an average person should be drinking each day. Government guidelines say that 2 litres is enough. Most of my clients aim for 2 litres and don’t quite make it and they’re very dehydrated when they come for their treatments. Make sure you’re drinking around 3 litres of pure filtered water each day. The quality of your water is key so investing in a good water filter is key!
