Lung cancer screening program is in Tesco Prestwich

The NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme uses a mobile scanning unit based at Tesco Prestwich to offer free lung health checks to eligible patients. The check looks for early signs of lung cancer, often before symptoms appear.

You may be invited if you:
• are aged between 55 and 74
• are a current or former smoker

The appointment is quick. It starts with a simple assessment. Some people will then be offered a low-dose CT scan of the lungs. The scan takes a few minutes.

Finding lung cancer early makes treatment more effective. Screening helps save lives.

If you receive an invitation, please attend. If you think you may be eligible but have not been contacted, speak to the practice team.

Wearing Face Masks when attending the practice

If you are attending the practice while experiencing respiratory symptoms such as a cough, cold, sore throat, or congestion, we kindly ask that you wear a mask during your visit. This helps reduce the spread of airborne pathogens and protects other patients, our staff, and the wider community.

Your cooperation supports a safer environment for everyone, especially those who may be more vulnerable to infections.

Masks and hand sanitiser are available in the waiting area for your convenience. If supplies happen to run out, please inform reception. They will be happy to provide you with a mask and ensure the stock is replenished promptly.
