The Unsworth Centre closes this afternoon. Huge thanks to all the volunteers who have helped over the months, and to all the adults and children who have used the centre. This is au revoir rather than goodbye, as we are still keeping fingers crossed that the centre will re-open some time in a new guise.

Elms Bank High School plan to re-open Unsworth Library as a fantastic community Hub. The Hub will be run by both our students and volunteers from the community.
With in the hub we plan to have a cafe and a gift shop, as well as the library. We also plan to have group sessions running.
One of the major issues we find when working with children and young adults with learning difficulties is the opportunity to progress and access employment just isn't there. That is what we want to change. Our hub will be a stepping stone, creating the skills and opportunity needed for employment in later life.
We also feel that is is very important to give our community back it's library as it is a fantastic recourse not just for books, but for friendship and inclusion. As a part of this we appreciate any feedback and suggestions.
As a part of this we do need A LOT of funding, we plan on holding several events to raise money to give you the community hub unsworth deserves.
Together we have many many ideas and plans for the library, we want to set up a number of social opportunity groups, parent and toddler, reading groups, sports and fitness, yoga, gardening, social events, opportunities for the older generation. Basically we have the potential to do whatever there is a community need and want for.
