The amazing thing about solution focused therapy is that we don't talk about the past - so no unpacking or picking at issues that have caused distress. Instead, we focus on the future; how you want things to be and how to get there - you decide what is right for you. During the initial consult, I give you information about how your brain works and how to flip things around to view things from another perspective - it is so liberating to know you have choice! I also give you a free download to help you empty your stress bucket and keep on top of things as well as embed the positive changes we will make. Subsequent sessions are based around half an hour talking therapy, taking the form of solution focused coaching and the remaining half an hour we use trance to allow those thoughts to be digested and your brain to both relax and problem solve. Trance is entirely safe and natural. We go into trance ordinarily each day - that journey to work you don't remember? Solution focused hypnotherapy is very quick - as a rule of thumb 6-12 sessions, but dependent on the individual and the challenges they face. I am also an Advanced Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner (sometimes known as tapping) and can blend this into sessions to help process emotions or symptoms that are keeping you stuck. Finally, I am also a Reiki practitioner - currently training to be a Reiki Master Practitioner - these sessions have been super popular. I work online, from Azure in Whitley Bay and from Karma Coast in Tynemouth as part of the wonderful collective there. Healing isn’t linear, and it certainly doesn’t require perfection. You don’t need to ā€œhave it all togetherā€. You don’t need to be ā€œover itā€ by now. And no… progress is not a straight line.

Healing can be messy, non-linear and yet always valid. Wherever you are right now, you are not behind. You are not broken. You are always evolving. šŸ’›

I’ve often felt very aware of my ā€˜differences’ as a therapist (and person truth be told!)

It’s been suggested that I care too much (yes really) or that I’m too informal and sometimes yes, I’ve felt ā€œless thanā€ because of it.

But I’m wondering more and more, if these ā€˜differences’ are infact the reason that many of my clients choose to work with me?

And if you are neurodivergent (many of the gorgeous souls I work with are) it’s likely that these differences might matter more…

…so I thought I’d summarise a few here - because let’s face it, seeking out support can be scary!

Truth be told, it’s just the way I practice (as a ND person myself) but I hope whether neurodivergent or not, these differences make the therapy space feel welcoming, friendly and safe.

…perhaps you’re feeling guilty / lazy / less than?

FYI you’re none of that - it’s perfectly natural! Just look at what’s happening in nature right now.

For me, these weeks around the clocks changing are always a period of massive adjustment.

I don’t mind sharing that last night - the newly dark evenings combined with the fact that my b12 is due soon - I didn’t make it past 6pm! šŸ•• There was literally nothing left in the tank.

If you’re feeling the need to go gently atm - I hope you can lean into some softness where you can.

…but sometimes it can feel challenging.

šŸ«¶šŸ» Perhaps it’s at the beginning of working with me and you feel unsure what to say?

I assure you that ANY answer is a great answer…

…and yes, sometimes it is tricky - so instead I’d like to invite you to be curious about what you’ve been pleased to notice.

I mean if the way a sweater pokes out of my sleeve makes it onto my feed…the world is your oyster!! 🦪
