Independent Feet
I believe that healthy feet lead to greater independence in a persons life. During my early years of practice as an OT, I came to understand how important foot health was to maintaining a good quality of life. I was frequently asked by my patients where they could find help with caring for their feet and I saw first hand how poor foot health could lead to more general reduction in mobility and independence. If you have painful or uncomfortable feet, you are less likely to want to move around and this in consequence will reduce your activity and independence. This is what inspired me to add to my OT skillset and train as a Foot Health Practitioner. This is what gives my approach to foot health an added dimension.

Yesterday I was volunteering at Forgotten Feet - Helping Homeless Feet, a charity that treats the feet of the homeless. It’s a humbly service to deliver and very rewarding. Great to be there alongside Robert Issacs from Headcorn Podiatry who brings a wealth of experience.
