Www.hummingbirdacupuncture.co.uk With the challenges of the past year, it has never been more important to boost the immunity of your own system. She specialises in gynaey, fertility treating with acupuncture and Chinese herbs if needed. She also treats babies and children with a gentle Japanese therapy. Amanda Thomas is trained as an acupuncturist. She also has post graduate training in Chinese herbal medicine. She trained with Stephen Birch in a gentle Japanese therapy called Shonishin. It works very quickly on babies and children .... they are built ( as are we) for change and have an enormous amount of resilience available to them. Amanda came across The Three Principles around 8 years ago - an understanding around how the mind works through the work of Sydney Banks. She is very passionate about sharing this, its the answer to everyone’s issues. She is very inspired by Dr. Dicken Bettinger who teaches The Three Principles. Dicken has an awesome vision + is the ‘Master of the Heart.’ She loves his ability to wake people
Up to their own wellbeing, genius and creativity. Amanda attended his first ‘Healing The World’ programme in the US in 2018. On return from the US she continued to deepen her learning of The Three Principled with Ian Watson & Carol Boroughs... On their ‘Journey to Wholeness’ course which was incredibly enlightening & healing on a personal level. In 2020, she published through Jane Sheehan’s “The Guru’s Guide to Reflexology” ~ a book on Hormones, Puberty, Fertility, Pregnancy, Maternity , Menopause. She is committed to share with as many people as she can about health + wellbeing & how to heal the world. Amanda has recently been invited to be a director of a community interest project called Happy Here. A cafe / one stop shop where the community can have space for connection and creativity. You can find her on FB or through her website

She spends her time raising her daughter, doing yoga, creating art, having conversations to point people towards their own wellbeing, walking along the Kent coastline & paddle boarding during the Summer months.

On the night of November 27, the Frost Moon rises — the first full moon of the winter season.
It shines with an icy brilliance, casting silver light across frozen forests, quiet lakes, and fields touched by early frost.
The night sky feels colder, clearer, almost sharper… as if winter itself is breathing in for the first time.

For centuries, the Frost Moon marked the arrival of long nights and still landscapes, a reminder that nature is slowing down to rest.
Tonight, its cold glow turns even the simplest scenes into something magical — shadows stretching across snow, pine trees shimmering with frost, distant stars glittering like frozen sparks.

If the sky is clear, step outside and look up.
Let the light of the Frost Moon settle into the silence of the season —
a reminder that even in the coldest nights, beauty finds its way back to the sky. ❄️🌕✨

Mark your calendars❄️ December 21: Winter Solstice ❄️
It’s the shortest day and the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere! This moment happens when the Earth tilts farthest away from the Sun, giving us the Sun’s lowest path across the sky.
🌍 What this means:
• Sunrise comes later and sunset arrives earlier.
• Shadows grow longer than on any other day.
• Nights feel deeper, colder, and perfect for stargazing.
• And from here… the light slowly begins to return. ☀️✨

This is an excerpt from Mary Oliver's poem "When Death Comes." I've spent much of this year thinking about what makes life meaningful; about how to avoid "simply having visited this world."

For me, one of the most powerful portals to the answer is the question:

"Imagine you're on your deathbed, taking stock of your life. What would your life need to have included in order for you to look back, sigh happily, and believe you'd lived the most meaningful life you could?"

For me, the answer revolves around loving deeply; using my skills to help others feel fundamentally seen, heard, safe; experiencing the beauty of music and the earth; and always heeding the call of my inside voice, even when it scares me.

Cultural scripts and definitions of "happiness" often push us into ways of living that don't actually align with deep meaning. Success-chasing, over-working, waiting to "arrive" at some distant, happy future instead of being fully here for now.

Losing loved ones—and realizing that "I don't want to end up simply having visited this world"—was the motivation that finally encouraged me to dig deeper. To realize I was willing to forego the trappings of "conventional success" if it meant being here for what really mattered.

Is this you, too? Check out my Hustle to Heart Bookclub at haileymagee.com/bookclub. We're a small, 20-member community of high achievers daring to redefine success, and we're enrolling for January 2026. We'd love to have you with us.

Our Story

At the Hummingbird Clinic we are passionate about children's health. They are our future. Shonishin therapy enables you as a parent to enhance the health and vitality of your child. The Japanese believe that EVERY child is born with a constitutional weakness. However, in my search and quest for the TRUTH of who we are I’ve discovered for myself that EVERY BODY on the planet has the potential for HEALTH and WELL BEING.

Amanda Thomas is an acupuncturist. She trained at the London College of Traditional in North London. She decided at the end of there training that she would love mostly to work with women as from an Inside Out perspective, women’s bodies are ‘seemingly more complicated.’ She basically LOVES a challenge, the more ‘difficult cases’ the BETTER.

She also trained with Stephen Birch in a Japanese therapy called SHONISHIN. He is the Master of working with babies and children. Watching him work was like watching the ‘baby whisperer.’

From her own exploration and experience of working with 100’s of babies, children, women and occasionally men she has come to the conclusion that EVERBODY wants the same THING. There is NO Thing as such ... you can’t capture the spirit. All she KNOWS is that she ‘does her bit.’ She has welcomed many women into the clinic who have looked for her ‘expertise’ to assist them with their ‘gynaecological issues.’ Any THING from PMS to regulating the menstrual cycle, migraines, depression, anxiety, panic attacks .... she has been an ‘avid learner,’ suffered much grief in her won life. She Under stands about ‘ADDICTION’ which covers ANY THING from Be ing Over weight, Be ing a smoker, taking drugs ....There is NO THING ...
