🌿 Teen Anxiety When They Don’t Understand Why They Feel This Way

So many young people are struggling quietly with anxiety especially at school.
They might not understand why they feel sick in the mornings, or why their heart races when it’s time to go into class. They just know something doesn’t feel right… and that can be really scary when you don’t have the words for it.

Anxiety can look like refusing school, getting angry, zoning out, or seeming “lazy” but underneath is often a child who feels completely overwhelmed.

Through my sessions at Willow Hypnotherapy, I use a gentle mix of hypnotherapy and practical techniques (alongside my own experience working with children and teens) to help them understand what’s really happening in their mind and body and to start feeling calmer, braver, and more in control again.

Every session is led by the young person at their pace, in a safe and supportive space.

🌿 Understanding Emotions

Many people with Autism or ADHD struggle to understand and manage emotions and it’s not because they don’t feel them. In fact, they often feel things more deeply than others.
It can be confusing when your body reacts before your brain has time to catch up… when anger, sadness, or overwhelm seem to appear out of nowhere, or when you can’t explain why you feel the way you do.

This is something I understand both professionally and personally as a therapist and as a parent of children on the spectrum.

Through a gentle mix of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) techniques and hypnotherapy, I help children and adults understand why their bodies and minds respond the way they do and how to recognise those emotions before they boil over.

We work on calming the body’s response, identifying triggers, and building emotional awareness in a safe, supportive space.

When we start to understand our emotions, we can finally stop fighting them and learn how to respond with compassion instead.
