*Spring Update*

Everyone in the Wisdom household are doing well but I’m currently struggling with my hands. The doctor says if they aren’t pain free in the next few months to go back and that it’s completely normal after pregnancy.

This means I’m taking a bit more time off massages than I first planned. I’m sorry to all of your backs, shoulders, legs…!

I hope to see you all soon.
Enjoy the sunshine.

Indian Head Massage appointments are now being taken. A session lasts 45 minutes.

If you would like a head massage to be part of your existing massage then that’s something I can now do too!

I am also trained in IASMT and use this along with sports massage and cupping appointments. If it is something you would like to try or are interested in then just ask!

I hope you continue to enjoy and benefit from your massage sessions.

Thank you

*Indian Head Massage*

Indian Head Massage or Champi has origins over 5000 years ago but was first brought to the UK in 1973 by an osteopath and massage therapist.

It has many physiological and emotional benefits, including and not limited to:
- Improved blood flow to the head and neck, relief of muscular tension and improved joint mobility;
- Improved hair and scalp condition;
- Improved lymphatic drainage;
- Relief from physical and emotional stress and anxiety;
- Relief of deep congestion in the head and eye strain; - Promotion of deep relaxation and a creation of a feeling of balance and well-being.

I like to conduct the treatment laying flat, having removed clothing around the neck and shoulders, as I find it allows the client to fully relax. However, it can also be conducted whilst seated and through light clothing. This allows it to be an accessible treatment for everyone. Just let me know what you would prefer.

Any other questions about this new treatment then just ask!

*Indian Head Massage set up complete.*

This massage oil is a perfect blend for face and body massage. Soya bean is light, gentle and moisturising therefore suitable for all skin types. Wheatgerm is rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants. Lavender oil and wheatgerm both relieve symptoms of dry and sensitive skin and stimulate new cell growth. It’s also 100% natural.

The towel wraps allow clients to turn more easily on the massage table.

*New treatment available in July 2024!*

Indian head massage.

I will be completing my Level 3 training to enable me to deliver the specialised technique of Indian head massage. This works on identified pressure points to aid the movement of lymph, blood and oxygen around the body. It also helps lower stress levels and aids relaxation.

Despite popular belief a sports massage should not leave you feeling battered and bruised. It shouldn't feel light and tickly though either!

It takes a certain amount of pressure to achieve the positive effects you feel afterwards:
- Reduced tension.
- Increased range of movement.
- Improved circulation.
- Relaxation.
- Removal of waste products like lactic acid.

Muscles that are worked on during a massage may feel tender the next day in a similar way to how they ache after a tough gym session.

Avoid strenuous exercise for the next 24 hours. Avoid alcohol and caffeine for at least 12 hours. Maybe treat yourself to a hot bath!

*I always ask people, do you stretch? Is stretching part of your daily routine?*

Stretching is a key element in maintaining flexibility, enhancing muscle function and preventing injuries.

BENEFITS:
• IMPROVES JOINT MOBILITY
• INCREASES BLOOD FLOW TO MUSCLES
• CONTRIBUTES TO BETTER POSTURE
• REDUCES MUSCLE TENSION
• SUPPORTS A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

TAILOR YOUR STRETCHES TO THE TYPE OF ACTIVITY FOR THE BEST APPROACH TO FLEXIBILITY AND INJURY PREVENTION.

Choose a stretch, choose a duration and use proper technique. If you need advice - ask!
