For many working mums and professionals, therapy isn’t about changing everything. It’s about coming back to yourself. Remembering what matters beneath the roles, the routines, and the expectations. Learning how to live a full life without being consumed by it.

You don’t have to wait until you’re burned out, numb, or on the edge. Therapy can be the quiet checkpoint where you pause, take stock, and choose how you want to move forward—with intention rather than momentum.

And truly? Taking that pause isn’t selfish. It’s one of the most responsible, caring things you can do—for yourself and for the people who rely on you.

Living with panic attacks or panic disorder can be deeply frightening and exhausting. The racing heart, breathlessness, and constant worry about when the next wave might arrive can leave you feeling trapped and unsafe in your own body.

If this feels familiar, please know that your experience is real — and you’re not weak or broken. Panic can be powerful, but it can be understood and worked through. You don’t have to face it alone.

Over time panic often starts to make life feel smaller. You might find yourself avoiding places, situations, or even your own thoughts just to feel “okay.” With the right support, this can change. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a gentle, evidence-based approach that can help you understand your panic, reduce fear, and rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and your body.

If anxiety or panic is affecting your life, you deserve care and understanding. Hope is possible, and support can make a real difference. I would be glad to support you and explore whether CBT or EMDR feels like the right next step for you. 💛

EMDR is a structured therapy that helps your brain process difficult experiences in a safer, more manageable way. It has eight stages, and you move through them at a pace that feels right for you.

1.Getting to know you – You’ll begin by sharing your story, what’s been difficult, and what you’d like to feel different. This stage focuses on building trust and understanding.

2.Preparation and safety – Before working with distressing memories, you’ll learn grounding and calming tools to help you feel supported and in control.

3.Choosing a focus – Together, we’ll gently identify a memory or experience to work on, along with the thoughts, feelings, and body sensations linked to it.

4.Processing – Using eye movements or tapping, your brain processes the memory in a new way, often reducing its emotional intensity.

5.Strengthening helpful beliefs – As distress eases, we’ll strengthen more supportive beliefs, such as “I’m safe now” or “I can cope.”

6.Body awareness – We’ll check in with your body and gently process any remaining tension or discomfort.

7.Closing safely – You’ll leave feeling settled and supported, with tools to help you between sessions if anything comes up.

8.Reviewing progress – We’ll reflect on changes, notice progress, and decide together what feels right to focus on next.

EMDR works with your brain’s natural ability to heal. You don’t have to relive everything or push yourself — we move at a pace that feels right for you

If you’re a go-getter, a working mum, or someone quietly holding everything together, therapy can feel almost indulgent to consider. From the outside, your life may look “sorted”: work progressing, responsibilities met, calendar full. You’re capable, dependable, and relied upon. So when something feels off inside, it’s easy to dismiss it and tell yourself you should be able to handle it — or that others have it worse.

But feeling disconnected, running on autopilot, or worn down by constant doing isn’t a failure. It’s a very human response to sustained pressure.

Therapy isn’t about falling apart — it’s about pausing. For high-functioning people, it’s rarely about crisis, but about creating space. A a rare, protected moment to slow down and ask what really matters now, why life feels so busy yet unfulfilling, and what you might need differently.

Choosing therapy here isn’t a sign that something is wrong. It’s a sign of autonomy — a decision to stop pushing through and begin realigning with your values, energy, and sense of meaning.

EMDR therapy helps the brain process difficult or “stuck” memories so they don’t keep affecting you in the present. This could look like:

• An embarrassing moment at school that still knocks your confidence
• Growing up with criticism that shaped your self-worth
• Trauma that shows up as being on edge and high alert all the time, nightmares, or avoidance

You don’t have to relive everything or know the “right” words. EMDR goes at your pace and focuses on helping your nervous system feel safe again.

Therapy isn’t about being broken — it’s about healing, understanding yourself, and moving forward. It’s normal to feel unsure — and it’s also okay to need support.

If you’ve been experiencing panic attacks or intense anxiety and you’re wondering whether therapy might help — especially if you’ve never been before — you’re not alone. 💛

Starting therapy for the first time can feel scary or overwhelming, but it doesn’t mean anything is “wrong” with you. Panic is a common response to stress, and it is treatable. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical, supportive approach that helps you understand what’s happening in your mind and body, and teaches skills to manage panic more confidently.

You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out — we take it one step at a time, at your pace.

If panic or anxiety is impacting your life, reaching out could be the first step toward feeling calmer and more in control.

Parenting can bring up unresolved childhood emotions that affect daily life. Recognising these feelings is the first step towards healing and creating a nurturing environment for both you and your children.

Your identity shifts when you become a parent. Therapy can provide the support needed to navigate these changes and honour your past self while embracing your new role.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps people heal from difficult or traumatic events. The idea is that distressing memories can be processed incorrectly by the brain, causing them to be easily triggered and causing distress. EMDR helps the brain process and store these memories properly, making them less upsetting and reducing the negative impact of trauma.

EMDR is often used to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event). But it can also help with other mental health problems, like depression (persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest in activities) and anxiety (intense, excessive, and persistent worry) and phobias.
