Eye spy a bruise 👀 Normal. Temporary. Worth it 💉💋
Bruising and swelling after dermal lip filler can look a little alarming, but it’s actually a completely normal part of the healing process.
When filler is placed, the tiny needle can disrupt small blood vessels under the skin. This can cause minor bruising and inflammation, which is simply your body’s natural response to treatment.
Here’s what to expect:
💉 Bruising – small areas of purple/blue discolouration can appear where blood vessels were disrupted. This usually fades within 3–7 days.
💉 Swelling – lips often look fuller in the first few days due to inflammation. This gradually settles as the filler integrates into the tissue.
💉 Tenderness – the area may feel slightly sore or firm while healing.
Things that can help:
✔️ Ice packs (gently applied)
✔️ Keeping hydrated
✔️ Avoiding intense exercise and alcohol for 24–48 hours
✔️ Arnica
Most importantly — trust the process. Initial swelling and bruising are temporary, and final results are usually visible once everything has settled at around 2 weeks.
Every treatment is performed with safety, anatomy knowledge, and aftercare guidance at the heart of what we do.
Your lips are healing beautifully 💋
