We put a lot of heart into our service because we know how important it is to have a reliable and caring funeral director at an already difficult time. On Friday we were extremely privileged to help a beautiful family lay their Mum, Wife and Grandma to rest. The chapel at Agecroft Crematorium was filled with love and light as we shared special memories, meaningful music and a photograph tribute display for a much missed lady. We always build special connections with the families we care for here at Eternal and this is no exception. Our hearts go out to this very beautiful family as they continue to go through this difficult time. We're sure that Maureen would be so proud of all of her family.

This week we helped a close knit family give a beautiful send off for a young man that was taken too soon. He is a much loved and missed Son, Grandson, Brother and Nephew. Red flowers to symbolise his love of Manchester United and unique music choices made the service a special one. At the end of the service we cleared the congregation so that this young man's immediate family could gather around the coffin and say they're own personal goodbyes, because "family matters".

We were recently asked to step in to give some comfort to a family who had sadly had a bad experience with a well known large funeral company. Knowing that the family needed us to move quickly, we completed arrangements efficiently while keeping our well known compassion and care. Not one moment of appreciation today but two! We were extremely privileged to look after Rachels Mum recently and we're proud of the funeral service we conducted for her at the end of last week. Ensuring all her wishes were kept to and wearing some red (as this was her favourite colour) made the service as special and unique as she was.

It's a very humbling feeling when we are given a card and a gift from a family who are going through grief following the loss of someone so special to them. Thank you for entrusting us to care for your Mum and your wider family at this difficult time. ❤️🎩

We're proud of the care we are currently giving to a much loved Mum & Wife and her family. It's such a privilege to be asked to step in at such a difficult time for the family and when they came over to visit their "sleeping beauty" they also brought with them a gift and a card for us.

We never expect praise or cards or gifts but it is a very kind thing for a family who are going through real pain, to do. It's reassuring for us to know that we are doing things how she would have wanted and we're so honoured to be the funeral directors looking after your beloved Mum. Thank you 💜🎩

Some families decide to come and spend time with their loved ones at our chapel of rest within our funeral home in Chadderton. When they do, we do small things to ensure they feel supported. A gentle welcome at the door, cups of tea and coffee widely offered and a respectful environment awaits.

This is a sacred time for a family. It shouldn't be rushed or interfered with in any way. We are merely here to facilitate and be on hand incase we can help in any way.

For many a visit at the chapel of rest will be the last time they spend with their loved one. They may reflect, say some words or just sit knowing that they are in the same room as the person they love so much.

There is no “right way” to visit. Some families come once, others come every day. Some bring children, photographs, or little keepsakes. Whatever feels right to you, we will support it.

Our promise is this: compassion first, always.

We're very proud of the service we did this week for a much loved and missed Mum, Nana, Sister and friend. Red was this ladies favourite colour and she had some particular music requests for her service, so nobody was in doubt as to what she wanted.

A true collaboration between family, celebrant and funeral director ensured that this ladies service was as unique and special as she was.

What a privilege it has been to care for this close knit family. May she rest in peace ❤️🎩

At Eternal Family Funerals, we truly believe that a meaningful funeral doesn’t come together by chance – it’s built on trust, communication, and teamwork. 🤝

One of the most important relationships in any funeral is that between the funeral director and the celebrant.

When we work closely with a celebrant, sharing details, stories, wishes, and family preferences, it allows the service to feel personal, seamless, and truly reflective of the person being remembered. From timings and music to tone and tributes, that connection ensures nothing feels rushed, awkward, or impersonal.

A strong funeral director–celebrant relationship means families don’t have to worry about the practicalities on the day. They can simply be present, knowing everyone involved is working together with care, respect, and the same goal – to honour a life properly.

For us, it’s never “just a job”. It’s about collaboration, compassion, and making sure every farewell is handled with the dignity it deserves.
